The Charlotte Hornets hit the road to take on the Houston Rockets for a Tuesday night contest. This is the first of two meetings between the two teams this season. Charlotte has lost four of their last five games, and Houston has won eight games in a row. James Harden leads the Rockets as he is averaging 28.2 points, 11.8 assists, and 8.2 rebounds. Charlotte is led by Kemba Walker who is averaging 23.1 points and 5.4 assists. Nicolas Batum will likely miss the game with a knee injury. Eric Gordon is questionable for the contest with a sprained left toe. Can Walker lead the shorthanded Hornets to an upset win on the road against the Rockets?
Hornets offense struggles in loss to Spurs
The Charlotte Hornets lost 102-85 to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. After trailing by three at the half the Spurs outscored the Hornets 55-35. Kemba Walker led the Hornets with 18 points on 6-of-13 shooting. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 12 points (6/9 fg) and nine rebounds in the loss. Both teams shot 40 percent from the field in the contest. Charlotte had trouble containing Davis Bertans who had 21 points (4/5 threes) in 18 minutes for the Spurs. The Hornets out-rebounded the Spurs 48-43 in the contest.
Jeremy Lamb wound up with 13 points and eight rebounds in place of Batum in the starting lineup. The difference in the game was turnovers as the Hornets had 16 and San Antonio committed only seven. Charlotte fell to 8-11 on the road this season.
Rockets top Raptors in shootout
The Houston Rockets beat the Toronto Raptors 129-122 on Sunday night. Houston went into the fourth quarter trailing by four before they outscored Toronto 34-23. Harden led the Rockets with 40 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, and 10 turnovers. Montrezl Harrell was sensational going for 28 points on 12-of-13 from the field. The Rockets shot 52 percent from the field and the Raptors shot 54 percent. Toronto had 19 turnovers and Houston committed 15. Eric Gordon finished with 19 points but he only made 1-0f-9 from 3-point range.
Trevor Ariza added 17 points on 5-of-10 from 3-point range. Houston had trouble containing DeMar DeRozan who had 36 points on 13-of-21 shooting. The Rockets improved to 15-6 on the road this season.

The Hornets will miss Batum in this contest. Walker will have a big night for Charlotte but it won’t be enough. Look for Harden to lead the Rockets to an easy home win.
