Written by: George Middleton
Milwaukee Bucks (18-18) at San Antonio Spurs (30-7)
NBA: Tuesday, January 10, 2016, at 8:30 p.m. ET
Line: San Antonio -10.5
The Milwaukee Bucks hit the road to take on the San Antonio Spurs for a Tuesday night contest. On Dec. 5, the Spurs beat the Bucks 97-96. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 21 points and nine rebounds. San Antonio has won seven of their last eight games, and Milwaukee has won three of their last five. Milwaukee is led by their pair of fantastic forwards Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo is averaging 24 points, nine rebounds, and 5.7 assists, and Parker is putting up 20.6 points and 5.7 rebounds. Kawhi Leonard leads the Spurs as he is averaging 23.9 points and 5.8 rebounds. Can Parker lead the Bucks to a big upset on the road?
Bucks fall to Wizards
The Milwaukee Bucks lost 107-101 to the Washington Wizards on Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee held an eight point lead at the half before getting outscored 58-44 in the second half. Antetokounmpo missed the contest with an illness. Jabari Parker led the Bucks with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. The Bucks had trouble containing Bradley Beal who went for 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting. Malcolm Brogdon had a career-high 22 points to go along with five assists. Milwaukee shot 46 percent from the field and Washington shot 49 percent.
Greg Monroe finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Michael Beasley added 18 points in 16 minutes. The Bucks fell to 11-9 at home this season.
Spurs blow by Hornets
The San Antonio Spurs beat the Charlotte Hornets 102-85 on Saturday night. San Antonio went into the half trailing by three before outscoring Charlotte 55-35 to end the game. Davis Bertans led the Spurs with 21 points on 4-of-5 threes in 18 minutes. Kawhi Leonard went for 19 points but he only shot 7-of-18 from the field. Charlotte out-rebounded San Antonio 48-43 in the game. Both teams shot 40 percent from the field. LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
Dewayne Dedmon added 15 points (6/6 fg) and 10 rebounds in only 23 minutes. Turnovers were the story in the game as the Spurs had seven and the Hornets had 16. San Antonio improved to 13-4 at home this season.
The Milwaukee Bucks are:
- 6-13-1 ATS in their last 20 vs. NBA Southwest.
- 6-14 ATS in their last 20 road games.
- 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.
The San Antonio Spurs are:
- 8-0 ATS in their last 8 home games.
- 7-1 ATS in their last 8 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
- 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win.
- 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games overall.
Milwaukee has the forwards (Antetokounmpo/Parker) to compete with the Spurs. The problem is that the Spurs have the edge with Gasol and Aldridge inside. Look for the Spurs to dominate inside. San Antonio is 8-0 ATS in their last 8 home games.
The pick: San Antonio
