The Cleveland Cavaliers hit the road to take on the Utah Jazz for a Tuesday night contest. This is the first of two meetings between the two teams this year. Cleveland has won five of their last six games while Utah has lost three of their last four. Gordon Hayward leads the Jazz as he is averaging 22 points and 5.8 rebounds this season. The Cavaliers have one of the best trios in the league in LeBron James (26.2 ppg), Kyrie Irving (24.3 ppg), and Kevin Love (21.8 ppg). The game features two teams with contrasting styles. Utah has the best defense in the league allowing 95 points, and Cleveland is fourth in the league in scoring putting up 110.3 points.
Cavaliers top Suns in shootout
The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Phoenix Suns 120-116 on Sunday night. Cleveland took control with a 16 point lead at the half but the Suns made things interesting after outscoring the Cavaliers 37-23 in the third. James led the Cavaliers with 28 points (11/17 fg) and eight rebounds. Kyrie Irving wound up with 27 points and seven assists. Love had 25 points and 10 rebounds. The Cavaliers had trouble containing Eric Bledsoe (31 points) and Devin Booker (28 points). Cleveland shot 54 percent from the floor and Phoenix shot 53 percent.
Channing Frye and Iman Shumpert added 10 points apiece. The Cavaliers had 20 turnovers and the Suns committed 14. Cleveland improved to 10-5 on the road this year.
Jazz fall to Grizzlies in defensive battle
The Utah Jazz lost 88-79 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night. Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 22 points and five rebounds. George Hill went for 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting. Utah shot 39 percent from the field while Memphis shot 44 percent. Trey Lyles finished with 11 points making all three of his 3-point attempts. Utah out-rebounded Memphis 44-37 in the contest. The Jazz had trouble containing Mike Conley who had 19 points and nine assists.
Rudy Gobert added five points and 13 rebounds in the loss. The Jazz committed 18 turnovers and the Grizzlies had 14. Utah fell to 11-9 on the road this season.

Cleveland has been the better team all season as they have one of the league’s most explosive offensive teams. Utah will keep this game close as they have the best defense in the league for a reason. At the end of the day James and Irving will be too much.
