NBA: Friday, March 24, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. ET
Line: Indiana -4
The Denver Nuggets hit the road to take on the Indiana Pacers for a Friday night contest. On Jan. 12, the Nuggets beat the Pacers 140-112. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Each team enters the contest having lost two of their last three games. Jokic leads the Nuggets as he is averaging 16.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Paul George leads Indiana as he is putting up 22.5 points and 6.4 rebounds. Denver is third in the league in offense (111.5 ppg), and Indiana is 19th in points (104.1 ppg). Can Jokic lead the Nuggets to a huge road win?
Nuggets blow by Cavaliers
On Wednesday night, the Denver Nuggets beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-113. Denver took control in the first half when they outscored Cleveland 73-59. Gary Harris led the Nuggets with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Will Barton went for 20 points on 8-of-14 from the field. The Nuggets shot 53 percent from the field and the Pacers shot 51 percent. Denver out-rebounded Cleveland 44-38 in the contest. Jokic wound up with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Kyrie Irving led the Cavaliers with 33 points.
Wilson Chandler finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Kenneth Faried added 17 points and nine rebounds in 19 minutes. The Nuggets improved to 21-17 at home this season.
Pacers fall to Celtics
The Indiana Pacers lost 109-100 to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night. Paul George led the Pacers with 37 points on 11-of-26 shooting. Jeff Teague went for 25 points and six assists. The Celtics shot 51 percent from the field and the Pacers shot 44 percent. Indiana out-rebounded Boston 45-43 in the contest. Myles Turner had seven points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 25 points and five assists.
Lavoy Allen added eight points and 14 rebounds off the bench. Boston committed 17 turnovers and Indiana had 13. The Pacers fell to 11-25 on the road this season.
The Denver Nuggets are:
- 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games.
- 7-1 ATS in their last 8 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
- 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
The Indiana Pacers are:
- 1-4 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
- 1-6 ATS in their last 7 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
- 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 1 days rest.
Indiana has been good at home all season and they have the edge with George and Teague in the backcourt. The problem is that the Nuggets have like a zillion good wing players and they have Jokic inside. Look for Denver to at least keep this game close.
The pick: Denver
