The Line:Ole Miss -2.5
A couple of 10-5 teams hook up in this game and while Georgia is on the road they have won two of their three SEC games. Not only that, but their first conference win was on the road and that is not easy in this tough conference. The Bulldogs have a solid defense and on the road this season they have won two of their four games. They have also covered the spread in their last four road games facing Ole Miss.
Ole Miss had lost their first two SEC games before getting in the conference W column with a win over Auburn on their last game. They are 7-2 at home this season and while their D has struggled this season they can light it up averaging 80 ppg.
UGA wakes up in the 2nd half
In Georgia’s last game they beat Missouri 71-66 and while they only scored 20 points in the first half and were outscored by eight they woke up in the 2nd half outscoring Mizzou 51-40. For the game the Bulldogs shot 45.7% from the floor and they played solid on the defensive end of the floor holding the Tigers to 34.7% shooting. The Bulldogs made the game a little closer than it should have been with their great D they played and the main reason was they were sloppy with the rock with 20 turnovers. Yante Maten scored 17 points and J.J. Frazier paced the Bulldogs combining for 33 points. These two players are combining to average more than 36 ppg and Maten is averaging 8.4 rpg.
Late game heroics lead the first SEC win
Ole Miss beat Auburn in their last game 88-85 where Rasheed Brooks hit a 3-pointer with 39 seconds left and Deandre Burnett made all four of his free throws in the last 30 seconds to give the Rebels the win. For the game Ole Miss shot 49.1% from the floor and they held Auburn to 44.6% shooting While the Rebels had a solid night from beyong the 3-pt arc they did not have a good night on the glass and gave up 15 offensive rebounds. Burnett led a balanced attack in the Auburn game, as four of five starters and six players overall went for double figures. Burnett leads the team in scoring and 2nd leading scorer Sebastian Saiz has been a monster on the boards this season and is averaging 12.1 rpg.
The Georgia Bulldogs are:
- 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss
- 20-8 ATS in their last 28 Wednesday games
The Ole Miss Rebels are:
Georgia has looked like the better team in conference play and they have had the Rebels’ number in their house in terms of covering the spread in the last few seasons. That will continue in this game, as the Bulldogs will at least cover.
I dig every sport and the NFL is my favorite. My team is the Redskins and my 2nd favorite is whoever is playing the Cowboys! I am a great handicapper and if you don’t believe me just ask. I don’t just write about betting on games I actually bet on them and I have done well, which is why it is a good idea to follow my picks.
