Free Picks for Gulfstream Park - 9/26/20

Race 6- FTBOA Florida Sire Wildcat Heir Stakes

This one mile stakes meet will have six male runners that were bred in Florida.

#5 Noble Drama has been racing well lately and has a 30% strike rate on the dirt as well as a 65% WPS percentage. While the 5-year-old gelding is coming off a victory in the seven-furlong Benny the Bull Stakes, fitness should not be an issue as he is 4-2-0-0 at this distance. Noble Drama, who also has fared well at Gulfstream, is a closer so expect Emisael Jaramillo -- who has guided the multiple stakes winner to two vicories along with a second place finish --to have him work off the pace.

#2 Squezadios has been racing pretty consistently over the last four meets. Squezadios finished fourth in Benny the Bull Stakes and has not beaten Noble Drama in either of the two events they have squared off. Trainer Teresa Pompay and jockey Miguel Vasquez have a good working relationship and the 4-year-old gelding has gotten to podium in three of his last four races with Vasquez on board.

#4 Turn on the Magic is the least experienced of the runners and is coming off a win at this distance in his last outing and has reached the podium in two of three races against winners. He has trained well over his last two workouts and is 3-1-0-1 going a mile. While this is jockey Sam Camacho’s first ride on the son of Khozan, trainer Michael Yates has a 21 % strike rate when coming off a win and his horses do well following a 31-60 day layoff.

Picks: I like a win bet on the #5. I also like an exacta box/trifecta box of #5, #2, #4..In addition I like a show bet on the #4.

Race 7 - Hollywood Beach Stakes

Eight 2-year-old’s will go five furlongs in this stakes event, which should be fantastic.

#1 Designed Kitten gets the nod for me because he is coming off a win on Woodbine’s synthetic surface. The daughter of Kitten’s Joy is the lone filly in this event and did produce a good workout for trainer Wesley Ward, who has a career strike rate of 17% and a 44% WPS percentage in stakes races with 2-year-olds. Ward’s horses have won 24% of their races in their first outings on the turf.

#10 Big Daddy Dave is coming out of the difficult post position and is trying the turf for the first time. However, the son of Khozan is coming off a strong second place finish in the seven-furlong FTBOA Florida Sire Affirmed Stakes. He also has a win at this distance in his debut in the $65,000 maiden special weight division. Trainer Ralph Nicks horses have fared well coming off a long layoff as well as in stakes races over the last year.

#5 Espia is coming off a his maiden victory, back on June 12th, which occurred against $65,000 maiden special weight competitors going five furlongs on the grass.

#2 Casala showed some ability his two maiden races but was completely overmatched in the FTBOA Florida Sire Dr. Fager Stakes at the beginning of September. This is his first go around on the turf.

#7 Omaha City is 3-for-3 in terms of reaching the podium on the grass.

Picks: I like an exacta box of #1, #10. I also like a show bet on the #5, #2,and #7. In addition, I will box #1, #10, #5, #2, #7 in a trifecta. Superfecta and/or Super Hi 5.

Race 8 - FTBOA Florida Sire My Dear Girl Stakes

Ten 2-year-old fillies will go one and one-sixteenth miles on the dirt. None of the runners have gone this distance before.

#7 Princess Secret has shown well in each of her two previous stakes affairs, which includes winning the seven-furlong FTBOA Florida Sire Susan’s Girl Stakes on Aug. 29. The daughter of Khozan has incrementally increased her distance in each of her outings and has two victories and two-second place finishes to show for it. Trainer Daniel Pita, whose horses have a 12% strike rate at this distance, and jockey Miguel Vazquez have a strong working relationship.

#2 Big Rings “crushed it” in her debut winning by eighth lengths against $55,000 maiden special weight division. Jockey Emisael Jaramillo, who has a 60% WPS percentage with 2-year-olds in stakes events, and trainer Ralph Nicks have a 24% strike rate when teaming up over the last year.

#1 Restofthestory was dominant in her last outing, defeating $65,000 maiden special weight opponents by over five lengths. While the daughter of Jess’s Dream has not been involved in a race over six furlongs, she is coming off a mile workout in her last training session.

#3 Go Jo Jo Go has finished in the money in three of her five starts while also working her conditioning up with longer races incrementally. She has not finished worst than fifth in any of her last four events.

#4 Oh Deborah has raced well this year and should also be a factor.

Picks: I like an exacta box of #7, #2. I also like a show bet on the #1 as well as a trifecta or superfecta box of #7,#2, #1, #3, #4.
