Free Picks For Parx -7/14/20

Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming (Purse -$20,000)

Seven fillies will go six furlongs in this one which appears to be a three horse race. #1 Bayleaf has been very consistent over her last five races, cashing in four of them including one win. The 4-year-old Ontario filly is coming off a second-place finish, following a three-month layoff, where she made a strong bid as Bayleaf started two-wide and just off the pace and then moved three-wide and challenged the leader but was unable to sustain. Jockey Jomar Torres, who has two wins and four top-3 finishes in his last eight starts, gets the ride on Bayleaf. #2 Tiz a Sharpie is racing for the first time since finishing seventh against $16,000 claimers while going one mile on the main track at Parx. Tiz a Sharpie has finished in the money in five of her last seven outings as well as seven of 12 overall. #1 Stay Salty and #4 Iwasbornawinner should battle for show.

Picks: I like a win bet on #1 as well as an exacta box of #1,#2.

Race 7 - Allowance (Purse - $40,000)

Eight male runners that are 3-years-old and upwards will go seven and one-half furlongs on the turf. However, #5 Flat Out Beautiful is main track only and #1 Noble Hope is a likely scratch after racing just two days ago at Monmouth. #7 Glory Song is the overwhelming favorite with a morning line odds of 9/5. The 4-year-old gelding is making just his third start of 2020 and recorded a career-best ESpeed of 97 while finishing third on the turf at Delaware at this level and distance on June 17. Expect jockey Ruben Silvera to get the speedy Glory Song, who has cashed in one of only two races on the turf in his career, to the front early in the race. #3 Storm Factor has not raced since October where he did not finish the race, thus ending a two-race win streak, as he had supreme difficulty at the start and then pulled up before crossing the wire. Aggressive jockey Paco Lopez will look to improve the 5-year-old gelding’s WPS percentage to 50% on the turf in Storm Factor’s first-ever start at this distance. #6 Hizaam won his last outing, which was the second following a long layoff, as he defeated $10,000 waiver claimers at Laurel on July 3. This will be Hizaam’s second career attempt on the grass. If the race is moved to the main track, Flat Out Beautiful should be seriously considered.

Picks: I like a win bet on the #7.

Race 10 - Allowance (Purse -$40,000)

Seven male horses will go six-and-one half furlongs on the dirt. This race should be very competitive. #3 Ark in the Dark showed some good early speed and then lost a duel with the eventual winner though he gamely held on for second in a six-furlong allowance race on June 23, which was just his second of 2020. Ark in the Dark, who showed tremendous improvement over his first race of the year the last time out, has run well at this distance in his career and is the only competitor in the field to record a victory at this distance. #5 Mr. Phil has finished in the money in 75% of his dirt races though he is coming off a fifth-place finish at Belmont following a three-month layoff. Paco Lopez, who was victorious in both of his rides in both his outings at Parx on July 1, will be in the saddle for Mr. Phil. 1A War Tocsin showed massive improvement in his second outing of the year, finishing fifth on the turf the last time out at Belmont (June 21). #6 Sir Back in Black should also be considered in exotic bets.

Picks: I like an exacta box of #3, #5.
