G2 and Movistar Riders will meet in the 9th place decider semi-final of the cs_summit 6 Europe, and G2 are massive favorites in this encounter. The winner will face ENCE or FaZe in the Upper final. These rivals have met once so far, and G2 won that duel.
The French team G2 experienced a disappointing campaign at the cs_summit 6 Europe as they came here with the favorite tag before the tournament. G2 lost five of the previous seven matches, including the last two, and have a 51.7% win rate over the past three months. When it comes to the maps during the same period, G2 were showing the strongest displays on Vertigo (60.0%). On the other hand, they were not playing well on Dust2 (38.9%) and Inferno (40.0%).
Movistar Riders couldn’t make it through the group stage after losing twice to North, and now are huge underdogs in the clash with G2. The Spaniards lost four of the last six matches, and have a 46.0% win rate over the last three months. In that span, Movistar Riders’ most favorite maps proved to be Inferno (56.0%) and Train (53.8%), while they haven’t been great on Overpass (38.9%), Vertigo (40.0%), and Mirage (40.0%).
G2 kept Movistar Riders to miserable one round on Vertigo the last and only time they met at the ESL One: Road to Rio – Europe. The French side won that clash 2-0, and I expect to see another comfortable win for G2. However, I am not going to back G2 to cover the -1.5 handicap because they haven’t been playing well lately, and honestly, I am a bit scared to back them to get a 2-0 victory. That’s why I am going with a safer option.
