Premier League will resume in mid-June

Most professional sports are planning their return or just starting play over the summer. The Bundesliga opened up play on May 16th with no fans and now the Premier League will resume play after a 100-day break on June 17.

On Thursday, it was revealed per the Telegraph, that the Premier League will start with Aston Villa hosting Sheffield United, while Arsenal will travel to Manchester City.

When those matches are completed, every team in the league will have played 29 games.

The goal is to complete all fixtures by August 1 and 2. After that, the FA Cup Final is expected to be played on August 8, in addition to the remaining Champions League and Europa League fixtures. That's dependent on whether the coronavirus pandemic has subsided and that international travel is allowed.
