Vitality and Heroic are facing in the upper bracket quarter-final of the cs_summit 6 Europe, and Vitality is firm favorites to get to the next round. The winner will face OG or North in the upper semi-finals. These rivals have met on three occasions, and Vitality won all three encounters.
The French team Vitality produced a couple of excellent displays in the opening matches of this tournament, and are rightfully favorites in this duel. They allowed just 24 rounds on four maps along the way and recorded five wins in the last six matches. Vitality has a 61.3% win rate over the past three months. When it comes to the maps during the same period, Vitality is unbeaten on Vertigo and is displaying strong performances on Overpass (71.4%). On the other hand, they have been mediocre on Mirage (50.0%).
Heroic also deserved their place in the playoffs after coming through the qualification stage and defeating ENCE in two of three group matches. The Danish side won six of the last eight matches and has a 73.3%% win rate over the last three months. In that span, Heroic dominated on Nuke (90.9%) and played well on Inferno (75.0%) and Vertigo (75.0%), while they have been weaker on Train (53.8%) and Dust2 (53.8%).
I feel sorry for Heroic, but I think this is the end of the road for them at this tournament. They are facing one of the strongest teams in the world right now, and Vitality has been playing well lately, which is definitely not helping Heroic. Four of Vitality’s last six matches ended after two maps, and Heroic will have a tough task to even win a map. That is probably the best they can get from this game – I am going with Vitality to secure a victory.
