When looking at FanDuel, we were quite impressed with the odds presented for some of the biggest games in sports. For the NBA and NHL playoffs, in particular, betting on some teams gave you a much higher return than other sportsbooks.

For the majority of games, the odds on FanDuel were just about the same as its rivals, but every now and then you’d find a hidden gem that gave better odds. Rest assured, FanDuel does its best to stay competitive and give you a good deal.

FanDuel has an average of 4.43% house edge, which sits roughly in the middle compared to other well-known sportsbooks. Officially, it ranked at #6 in a top 10 list we’ve studied. 

FanDuel probably has the best odds for the NBA and NHL, but the EPL and MLB aren’t too far behind.

FanDuel reportedly has roughly 12 million users, which goes to show how popular the sportsbook has become since it began in 2009. Several users have mentioned issues with the official app, as they stated that their account was closed randomly and that the app itself was glitching. Customer service, as well, was slightly hit or miss.

How does FanDuel’s sign-up bonus compare to other sportsbook bonuses?

Sportsbooks offering free bets is normal, although some sites like DraftKings do offer cash bonuses instead of free bets.

Only one other site, BetMGM Sportsbook, offered a $1,000 free bet, while many others provided $250. This means that if you like the idea of getting involved with online sports betting, trying out risk-free bets worth $1,000 is a solid deal.

Same Game Parlay

This is for the basketball fans! You’ll just have to place a +3 Leg SGP on an NBA Playoff game, and if it loses, then you’ll get $20 worth of free bets. There are several T&Cs, of course, but it’s a nice deal if you’re betting a lot on NBA games.

Refer a Friend

Most sportsbooks have an offer like this, and with FanDuel, if you refer a friend then both of you will receive $50 credit to use on the site.

Rewards/Loyalty Program

FanDuel’s VIP program is said to give you exclusive promos and bonuses, as well as invitations to events and even pro tips for betting. However, it’s invite-only so you’ll likely have to use the account several times a month and make many deposits and bets. 

You won’t start an account and be asked to join the VIP program the next day! The information is a bit concealed on the site, but we assume you’ll only get the details if asked to be in the VIP program.

Customer support

Although many online users have complained about bad customer support and being falsely locked out of their accounts, everyone’s experience might be different. The site lists a phone number for support as 877-689-0662. There is also an email, which is support@fanduel.com.

The live chat is pretty helpful, although it starts out as a bot, you can transfer to a human if your question is complex. There’s also an FAQ section if you want an answer quickly. 

Making a deposit

FanDuel provides several ways to make a deposit, although perhaps not as many options as other sites. There are e-check, debit and credit cards, PayPal, Prepaid Card, Green Dot Moneypak, PayNearMe, wire transfer, or normal checks and money orders.

Making a withdrawal

To make a withdrawal, the longest time you’ll have to wait is five days if making an online transfer. PayPal and Prepaid Cards are much faster with 48 hours. Checks take as long as two weeks.

Conclusion

FanDuel’s website and app both look good and are simple to use. The site does a good job of introducing sports betting to new customers and $1,000 risk-free bets helps at the start.

The odds are quite competitive and there’s a big range of sports to choose from. Not everyone is satisfied with the customer support and sometimes accounts can be blocked without any reason, but FanDuel is worthy of your time and money.

What we like

Big list of sports and the odds are some of the best for the latest games. The promos are worth checking out and the payouts don’t take too long. 

What we don’t like

The VIP program is a bit confusing and customer support can’t always help you. Losing your bonus after sign-up can happen if you don’t use it before 14 days, but that should be enough time.
