CFL Weekly Picks Starting October 9, 2026

By: Al MacMillan Published 10/09/2026, 10:40 AM ET

CFL Week 19 features four games from Friday, October 9 through Monday, October 12, with playoff positioning becoming increasingly important across the West Division. Edmonton, BC, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Saskatchewan all enter the closing weeks of the regular season with meaningful postseason implications, while Montreal has already secured first place in the East.

Our Week 19 CFL picks focus on current point spreads, totals, line movement, quarterback availability, injuries, recent form, and playoff motivation. Every matchup includes a projected score and at least one Best Bet.

Edmonton Elks vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats Picks - Friday, October 9

Edmonton enters Week 19 at 11-4 and can secure a home playoff game with a victory, while Hamilton has already been eliminated despite playing much better football over the past two weeks.

The Elks are favored by approximately 6.5 points, but Hamilton already pushed Edmonton into overtime in their first meeting and has shown more offensive life with Harrison Frost at quarterback. Edmonton remains the projected winner, but the spread has moved far enough toward the favorite to create value on the home underdog.

Best Bet: Hamilton Tiger-Cats +6.5 (-110)

Prediction: Edmonton Elks 31, Hamilton Tiger-Cats 28

Ottawa Redblacks vs BC Lions Picks - Friday, October 9

BC can clinch a playoff berth with a victory over winless Ottawa, and the Lions enter as one of the largest favorites on the Week 19 board.

BC should win the game, but laying approximately 13.5 points creates a different betting question. The Lions beat Toronto last week despite failing to score an offensive touchdown, settling for eight field goals instead. That makes nearly two touchdowns a demanding margin even against the CFL's weakest team.

Ottawa does not need to threaten an outright upset. A competitive loss in the 10-point range is enough to cover the current spread.

Best Bet: Ottawa Redblacks +13.5 (-110)

Prediction: BC Lions 34, Ottawa Redblacks 24

Calgary Stampeders vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks - Saturday, October 10

Calgary and Winnipeg meet in one of the most important West Division games of Week 19. Calgary has won three straight and can clinch a playoff berth with another victory, while Winnipeg is trying to stabilize after losing three of its past four.

The Blue Bombers are short home favorites, but Calgary enters with the more settled offensive identity. Vernon Adams Jr. continues to produce one of the CFL's strongest passing seasons, and the Stampeders already scored 52 points in Winnipeg earlier this year.

Zach Collaros returned to full practice this week, which improves Winnipeg's outlook, but uncertainty around Brady Oliveira and the Bombers' recent offensive struggles make Calgary attractive as a short underdog.

Best Bet: Calgary Stampeders +1.5 (-110)

Prediction: Calgary Stampeders 33, Winnipeg Blue Bombers 30

Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Montreal Alouettes Picks - Monday, October 12

Saskatchewan closes Week 19 in Montreal against an Alouettes team that has already secured first place in the East Division.

The side is difficult to price because Saskatchewan has greater standings urgency while Montreal remains undefeated at home and owns one of the CFL's strongest overall records. The total provides the cleaner betting opportunity.

Montreal averages more than 35 points per game and has been one of the league's strongest Over teams throughout the season. Davis Alexander is coming off a 440-yard passing performance, while Saskatchewan quarterback Trevor Harris threw for 453 yards and four touchdowns last week.

Best Bet: Over 57.5 (-110)

Prediction: Montreal Alouettes 32, Saskatchewan Roughriders 28

  • Ottawa vs BC: Ottawa +13.5 (-110)
