Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks and Prediction for Friday September 25 2026
The Toronto Argonauts visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on Friday, September 25, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET with coverage on TSN, RDS and CBS Sports Network. Toronto enters at 8-6 after an important 24-19 home victory over Edmonton, while Winnipeg is 7-6 following its Week 16 bye. With Toronto sitting second in the East and Winnipeg fighting through an extremely crowded West Division race, this is one of the most consequential games of the CFL weekend. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Be sure to check out our free CFL picks for more CFL predictions throughout the season.
Toronto Continues to Turn Its Season Around
Toronto has quietly transformed its season after an inconsistent start. The Argonauts improved to 8-6 by beating Edmonton 24-19, handing the West-leading Elks their fourth loss. That came one week after Toronto edged Ottawa 26-23, giving the Argonauts consecutive victories entering their trip to Winnipeg.
Toronto has also demonstrated considerably more offensive upside than its latest two scores suggeState Earlier victories included 44 points at Ottawa, 40 at Saskatchewan and 33 against Calgary. The Argonauts therefore have the ability to attack Winnipeg vertically and create explosive scoring possessions, but their recent success has come from playing more controlled football rather than relying entirely on shootouts.
The most encouraging part of the Edmonton victory was Toronto’s ability to handle a team that entered the week at 10-3. Winnipeg presents a different challenge because the Blue Bombers are rested and playing at Princess Auto Stadium, but Toronto has already demonstrated that it can win difficult road games. The Argonauts’ improving form makes them dangerous if the market gives them more than a field goal.
Winnipeg’s Defense Is Becoming the Difference
Winnipeg enters at 7-6 after getting a valuable Week 16 bye. The Blue Bombers’ last game was a 19-6 victory over Saskatchewan in the Banjo Bowl, avenging their 32-26 overtime loss to the Roughriders six days earlier. Winnipeg won the two-game season series on point differential and remains firmly involved in the West Division race.
Defense has become the foundation for Winnipeg. The Bombers forced multiple turnovers against Saskatchewan and limited the Roughriders to six points. They also controlled the ground game effectively enough to prevent Saskatchewan from generating sustained offensive momentum. That defensive performance becomes particularly important against a Toronto offense capable of punishing mistakes.
The concern is Winnipeg’s offensive consistency. The Bombers scored only 19 against Saskatchewan and have experienced several games this season where the offense has struggled to separate from opponents. Toronto enters with momentum after beating Edmonton, so Winnipeg may need more than another conservative offensive performance. The bye and home field help, but there is very little separating these teams.
Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Picks and Prediction
Pick: Toronto +3.5 or Better
Winnipeg deserves respect at Princess Auto Stadium, particularly after holding Saskatchewan to six points, but Toronto enters with the stronger immediate momentum. The Argonauts have won consecutive games and just defeated a 10-win Edmonton team. Winnipeg’s defense should keep this competitive, but its offensive inconsistency makes laying more than a field goal uncomfortable. Toronto +3.5 or better provides protection in a matchup that has one-score-game potential.
Pick: Under 53.5 or Higher
Toronto’s last two games finished with 49 and 43 combined points, while Winnipeg’s last game produced only 25. Both teams have recently found success by avoiding the type of wide-open football that characterized some of their earlier games. With playoff positioning becoming increasingly important, this sets up as a more deliberate matchup where turnovers and field position matter. At 53.5 or higher, I prefer the under.
Final Picks: Toronto +3.5 or Better and Under 53.5 or Higher
