Xavier vs Seton Hall Game Preview and Analysis

I see this game as a battle between current form and matchup fit. Seton Hall’s 14-2 start feels distant after four straight losses, and the offensive numbers have fallen off sharply. Being held to 60 points in consecutive games is a red flag, especially when shot quality has dipped.

That said, Xavier’s defense has been one of the weakest in the conference. Allowing opponents to shoot nearly 47 percent is the kind of issue that can quickly cure scoring problems. This is why I expect Seton Hall to look much better offensively than it has in recent games.

The total is where I see the most value. Xavier games have turned into track meets lately, with several contests finishing well above this number. Even losses have featured fast pace, late fouls, and high possession counts. If this stays competitive into the final minutes, free throws and late scoring can push this over.

Seton Hall may win, but laying nearly seven points with a team searching for rhythm is risky. I would rather take the points and look for scoring.

Key Injuries and Notes for XAV and SHU

  • XAV: Gabriel Pozzato is questionable with a knee injury.
  • XAV: Luke Naser is out.
  • XAV: Kason Westphal is out and redshirting.
  • SHU: Jahseem Felton is out with a knee injury.
  • SHU: Patrick Suemnick is out with a shoulder injury.

Final Score Prediction

I expect Seton Hall to snap out of its shooting slump against this defense, but not pull away comfortably.

Projected Final Score: Seton Hall 77, Xavier 73

ATS and Total Picks

  • Xavier +6.5
  • Over 144.5
