Razorbacks Looking Sharp, Sit at 2-0
Coach Sam Pittman is back for his sixth season as the lead man of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and he hasn’t been able to stabilize this Hogs football program just yet. During his tenure, they’re 32-31 overall, owning an SEC mark of just 14-28. Perhaps this is the turning point, as Arkansas is out to an impressive 2-0 start. They’ve destroyed their competition thus far, taking down Alabama A&M (52-7) and Arkansas State (56-14), more recently. The Razorbacks are 1-1 ATS in 2025.
QB Taylen Green has the reins of the offense this season, and he has exploded against the inferior early-season opposition. He’s thrown for 561 yards on a 71.9% completion rate, adding 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. His top target is O’Mega Blake, who has 185 yards and two touchdowns. Mike Washington Jr., a New Mexico State transfer, has handled the rushing workload with 195 yards and one touchdown on 18 totes (10.8 YPC).
- Arkansas’ current win total is just 5.5 (-115/-105), and they have the fourth-longest odds (+10000) to win the SEC title.
- Their offense has been fantastic this season, ranking fourth in scoring (56.0 PPG), while putting up 630.0 yards per game (third).
- Defensively, the Razorbacks are 27th in the country this year, conceding 14.0 points per game. They’re allowing 285.0 yards per contest, which is 29th.

#17 Rebels Handle Wildcats in Lexington
The “Lane Train” chugs ahead in Oxford this year, as Coach Lane Kiffin returns for his sixth season as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebs are 46-18 (26-16 SEC) under Coach Kiffin, but they've yet to make a College Football Playoff appearance. They’re priced at +300 to make it in 2025-26. Ole Miss hammered Georgia State 63-7 in their opener, and followed it up with a quality 30-23 road win over Kentucky last weekend.
With Jaxson Dart moving to the NFL (Giants), it has paved the way for Austin Simmons to take control of the offense. The quarterback hasn’t been overpowering thus far, accumulating 576 passing yards on a 60.0% completion rate with three touchdowns and four interceptions. Harrison Wallace III has emerged as the top receiver, and he has 247 yards and one touchdown. RB Kewan Lacy has been the bell cow, logging 246 yards and four touchdowns on 44 carries (5.6 YPC).
- Ole Miss’ updated win total sits at 8.5 (-125/+105), and the Rebs are priced at +1700 to win the SEC championship.
- Offensively, the Rebels are scoring 46.5 points per game (seventh), while averaging 575.0 yards per week (seventh).
- On the defensive side, Ole Miss is 33rd this season, allowing 15.0 points per game. In terms of yardage, they’re 41st, conceding 309.5 yards per contest.
Arkansas vs. Ole Miss Pick
Spread Pick for Arkansas vs. Ole Miss
- Arkansas Razorbacks +7.0 (-110) (5 units)
Arkansas is one of those teams in the SEC that can’t quite get over the hump and be very competitive, but they’re also not a program that you can take lightly. The Razorbacks have played teams tough on the road recently, going 7-1 ATS in their last eight road contests. They’re also an impressive 10-2 ATS against Ole Miss in the last 12 meetings between the schools.
With Arkansas’ offense firing on all cylinders, I’m willing to back them getting a full touchdown’s worth of points on Saturday. The big issue that I have with Ole Miss is their quarterback, Austin Simmons. He’s very inexperienced and only has a 60.0% completion rate to go along with a 3/4 TD/INT ratio this season. If his turnover-happy play continues and the Hogs can capitalize, then this game will be close.
Over/Under Pick for Arkansas vs. Ole Miss
- Over 61.5 (-110) (5 units)
I mentioned that the Hogs are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 meetings with the Rebs. Well, last season was one of the games where Ole Miss pulled out a cover. They smashed Arkansas 63-31 in Fayetteville, clearing the 54.5-point total by themselves!
Both of these offenses have been unstoppable out of the gate in 2025. Arkansas is scoring 56.0 points per game against FBS-level competition, while Ole Miss is averaging 46.5 points per game. With a veteran quarterback in Taylen Green at the helm for Arkansas, I think the Razorbacks’ offense will go toe-to-toe with the explosive Lane Kiffin-led Rebels offense. This may be one of those games that ends up in the 70s or 80s. Give me the over.
