Army vs Tulsa Picks and Prediction

Pick: Tulsa Golden Hurricane -1.5

Tulsa should have an opportunity to build on its recent victory over Rice when Army comes to town Friday night. The Golden Hurricane produced 38 points in that matchup and will look to carry that offensive production into a contest that could feature considerably fewer possessions. Army's rushing attack creates problems for opposing defenses because the Black Knights can consistently move the chains and shorten games through extended drives. However, Tulsa will have an opportunity to take control if its defense remains disciplined against the option and prevents Army from generating explosive rushing plays. The Golden Hurricane must also take advantage of their offensive possessions rather than allowing Army to dictate the pace throughout the evening. Tulsa's ability to create more explosive plays offensively, combined with the home-field advantage, makes the Golden Hurricane my choice to win this conference matchup.

Pick: Under 54.5

Army's offensive approach is one of the biggest reasons to expect a lower-scoring contest Friday night. The Black Knights rely heavily on their rushing attack, which allows them to control possession and keep the clock moving throughout the game. Long drives can significantly reduce the number of opportunities available to opposing offenses, especially when Army consistently converts manageable third downs. Tulsa showed it can put points on the board against Rice, but the Golden Hurricane may not have as many possessions to work with against Army. The Black Knights will attempt to keep Tulsa's offense on the sidelines while limiting explosive plays defensively. Unless Tulsa establishes an early lead and forces Army to change its offensive approach, the combination of extended possessions and a running clock should help keep this matchup under the posted total.

Final Picks: Tulsa Golden Hurricane -1.5 and Under 54.5
