Campbell vs Florida Picks and Prediction for Saturday September 12 2026
The Campbell Fighting Camels travel to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida, to face the Florida Gators on Saturday, September 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM ET on SEC Network+. Florida enters at 1-0 after overwhelming Florida Atlantic 66-21, while Campbell opened its season with a 49-37 road victory over ETSU and plays Western Carolina on Sunday after that game was postponed by severe weather. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Before placing your wagers, check out our free college football picks for more predictions throughout the season.
Campbell Has Already Shown Offensive Firepower
Campbellβs season-opening 49-37 victory over ETSU showed that the Fighting Camels can move the football. Campbell generated 514 total yards and scored touchdowns on seven of its 11 full offensive possessions. The Camels needed that production because ETSU accumulated 528 yards of its own.
Kamden Sixkiller was outstanding in the opener, throwing for 343 yards and accounting for four touchdowns. Campbell demonstrated enough explosiveness to punish defensive mistakes and scored 49 points against an ETSU program that entered the matchup receiving votes in the FCS rankings.
The challenge becomes dramatically more difficult in Gainesville. Campbell will also have an unusual turnaround after its home game against No. 24 Western Carolina was postponed until Sunday because of severe weather and an electrical problem with the stadium lighting system. That gives the Camels one fewer recovery and preparation day before facing an SEC opponent for the first time in program history.
Florida Explodes for 624 Yards in Opener
Florida opened the Jon Sumrall era by hammering Florida Atlantic 66-21 at The Swamp. The Gators generated 624 total yards, including 343 through the air and 281 on the ground. Florida scored 17 points in the opening quarter, carried a 38-14 advantage into halftime and continued adding points throughout the second half.
Aaron Philo threw for 275 yards, while Jadan Baugh rushed for 160 yards. Vernell Brown III supplied 117 receiving yards as Florida demonstrated the offensive balance expected from a team with considerably more talent than Campbell across the roster. The Gators averaged 9.3 yards per play and scored 66 points on only 67 offensive snaps.
There are still areas Florida can clean up defensively after FAU accumulated 396 yards and converted 11 of 22 third downs. However, the Gatorsβ offensive advantages should be substantial against a Campbell defense that surrendered 528 yards to ETSU. Florida also remains at home before beginning SEC play at Auburn the following week.
Campbell vs Florida Picks and Prediction
Pick: Florida -38.5 or Better
With a conventional sportsbook spread not consistently available, Florida -38.5 or better is my target. Campbell can score, but the defensive matchup is extremely concerning after the Camels allowed 528 yards and 37 points to ETSU. Florida just produced 624 yards and 66 points against an FBS opponent and should have overwhelming advantages in size, speed and depth. Campbellβs shortened week makes the situation even more difficult. If the spread opens below 40 points, take Florida -38.5 or better.
Pick: Over 58.5
The Over 58.5 is my preferred total target. Florida demonstrated that it can threaten 50 points by itself in this matchup, especially after Campbell surrendered 528 yards in its opener. The Camels also possess enough offensive ability to contribute to the total rather than requiring Florida to do everything. Even something like 52-10 or 49-14 gets us across this target. Take the Over if the total is set at 58.5 or lower.
Final Picks: Florida -38.5 or better and Over 58.5 or lower
