The Rebels demonstrated considerable offensive explosiveness after halftime. Ole Miss scored 31 points over the final two quarters and repeatedly produced chunk plays against a nationally ranked defense.

The concern for anyone laying nearly seven touchdowns is the defensive performance. Louisville generated 38 points and was able to erase a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit before Ole Miss won on a field goal as time expired. Charlotte represents a dramatic reduction in competition, but -47.5 leaves almost no room for a defensive lapse or late score by the underdog.

Ole Miss also has LSU coming to Oxford next week for its SEC opener. Once the Rebels establish complete control Saturday, there is little reason to keep starters on the field simply to cover an enormous betting number.
