College Football Picks for Saturday, October 10, 2026

By: Al MacMillan Published 10/09/2026, 08:16 PM ET

Saturday, October 10 brings one of the season's most intriguing college football cards, with Georgia visiting Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma meeting at the Cotton Bowl, and unbeaten Indiana trying to prove itself at Nebraska. The schedule also offers a ranked Big Ten clash between UCLA and Oregon, a tight Houston-Kansas State line and a White Out in State College. The point spread tells only part of each story. Injuries, offensive identities and the price available late in the week determine which side of these matchups is actually worth taking.

Our Saturday picks cover 20 games, ranging from the noon kickoffs through Boise State's late trip to Fresno State. The card features three especially attractive positions: UCLA-Oregon Under 58.5, LSU-Kentucky Under 50.5 and Kansas State -2.5 against Houston. Elsewhere, we prefer several underdogs who have enough points to survive a narrow loss. All listed odds are Friday, October 9 market snapshots, and each recommendation is valid only at its stated number or a better one.

Saturday College Football Predictions and Best Bets

UCLA vs Oregon Pick

Oregon should win the matchup at Autzen Stadium, but the total asks both ranked teams to score with unusually high efficiency. UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava gives the Bruins a real ground-game threat, and that can shorten possessions as much as it creates explosive gains. Oregon has the passing depth to score against the Bruins' aggressive defensive looks, but the Ducks need not play at top speed if they establish a lead. A 31-20 Oregon win fits a game in which UCLA has enough rushing success to drain clock without consistently finishing with touchdowns. The total has fallen from an earlier 60.5, so the entry number matters.

Pick: Under 58.5

Playable number: Under at 57.5 or higher

Prediction: Oregon 31, UCLA 20

Tulane vs Army Pick

Army's triple-option attack can dominate time of possession, especially against a Tulane run defense that has had difficulty maintaining assignments. Quarterback Cale Hellums can make defenders pay for reacting to the dive or pitch too quickly. But the Green Wave have their own explosive runners in Maurice Turner and Jaylin Lucas, who can flip the field without a long passing drive. Army recently surrendered 503 yards to Louisiana Tech, so its defense cannot simply count on the option offense to protect it. Tulane has questions at quarterback, but a full field goal or more makes the road underdog attractive in a game likely to hinge on only a handful of possessions.

Pick: Tulane +3.5

Playable number: Tulane +3 or better

Prediction: Army 24, Tulane 21

Texas A&M vs Missouri Pick

Missouri comes off a 45-17 demolition of Florida, with Austin Simmons throwing for 340 yards and Jamal Roberts adding 211 on the ground. The Tigers have earned their status as a short home favorite, yet Texas A&M brings a more disciplined defensive test than the scoreboard from Missouri's last game suggests. Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed was efficient in the Arkansas victory and will want to avoid putting Missouri's rush in obvious passing situations. Both offenses are capable of lengthy, productive drives, but that does not require a track meet. A tight SEC contest with more field-position exchanges than quick scores points toward a final below 50.

Pick: Under 49.5

Playable number: Under at 49.5 or higher

Prediction: Missouri 24, Texas A&M 20

Tennessee vs Arkansas Pick

Tennessee remains the more complete team, with DeSean Bishop capable of carrying a large share of the offense. The issue is that the Vols are turning to George MacIntyre at quarterback after uncertainty surrounding Faizon Brandon, and a first road conference start invites some uneven possessions. Arkansas has struggled to produce wins, but the Razorbacks need not match Tennessee play for play to stay within two touchdowns. Their best route is to pressure MacIntyre on long-yardage downs and prevent Bishop from turning modest gains into explosive runs. A Tennessee victory by one possession is still a sensible outcome, making the home underdog preferable at this price.

Pick: Arkansas +13.5

Playable number: Arkansas +13 or better

Prediction: Tennessee 31, Arkansas 23

South Carolina vs Florida Pick

Florida must respond after Missouri overwhelmed the Gators 45-17. The rushing game that had carried Jadan Baugh through an unbeaten start never found its footing in that loss, and restoring it will be a priority against South Carolina. The Gamecocks have their own consistency problems, but quarterback LaNorris Sellers can extend plays when protection breaks down and make defenders account for him outside the pocket. That gives the visitor a route to useful late possessions even if Florida controls most of the afternoon. Florida should create more scoring opportunities at home; getting nearly two touchdowns with Sellers provides enough protection to take the points.

Pick: South Carolina +12.5

Playable number: South Carolina +11.5 or better

Prediction: Florida 34, South Carolina 24

Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt Pick

Ole Miss returns from a bye with Trinidad Chambliss directing an offense capable of explosive drives. Running back Kewan Lacy is expected back, although the Rebels have indicated that his workload will be managed rather than immediately restored in full. Vanderbilt needs a more disciplined effort than it produced against Georgia, where penalties repeatedly damaged possessions. Jared Curtis can give the Commodores chances through the air if the protection holds up. Ole Miss has the talent advantage, but a double-digit road spread is a substantial demand when the backfield rotation is still settling. Vanderbilt can stay within the number without threatening to win outright.

Pick: Vanderbilt +10.5

Playable number: Vanderbilt +9.5 or better

Prediction: Ole Miss 31, Vanderbilt 23

Maryland vs Ohio State Pick

Maryland has lost three consecutive games and conceded 137 points during that stretch. Turnovers and protection breakdowns have repeatedly placed the Terrapins' defense in poor situations, a particularly dangerous formula against Julian Sayin and Ohio State's passing game. Jeremiah Smith has been one of the country's most difficult receivers to contain, forcing opponents to commit extra help and exposing other areas of the field. The market has already cut the Buckeyes' spread from approximately 37.5 to 32.5, a meaningful reduction in the margin required. Ohio State can reach the high 40s if Maryland's giveaways continue, making the favorite more interesting at the shorter number.

Pick: Ohio State -32.5

Playable number: Ohio State -32.5 or better

Prediction: Ohio State 49, Maryland 10

LSU vs Kentucky Pick

LSU has the offensive talent to win comfortably, but its 63-14 victory over McNeese should not be projected directly onto an SEC road game. Sam Leavitt and the Tigers can move the ball through the run game, which is useful for building a lead but also keeps the clock moving. Kentucky's Kenny Minchey helped engineer a dramatic comeback against South Carolina, although the Wildcats' offense needed time to find its rhythm. If LSU protects the ball and limits explosive gains, Kentucky may struggle to keep pace without turnovers or short fields. The Tigers are the more likely winner, but a total just above 50 leaves room for a 28-17 outcome.

Pick: Under 50.5

Playable number: Under at 49.5 or higher

Prediction: LSU 28, Kentucky 17

Kansas vs Utah Pick

Kansas erupted for more than 700 yards against Middle Tennessee, with Isaiah Marshall and Dylan Edwards helping drive a powerful rushing performance. Utah's defense is a much more difficult assignment, particularly at Rice-Eccles Stadium, where Devon Dampier and Wayshawn Parker give the Utes multiple rushing threats of their own. Utah should control more of the game, but the market has moved beyond two touchdowns after opening in the neighborhood of 13.5. Kansas has a credible way to consume clock and put together a few scoring drives even if Marshall's passing efficiency remains uneven. The spread provides a cushion for a respectable road loss.

Pick: Kansas +15.5

Playable number: Kansas +15 or better

Prediction: Utah 31, Kansas 20

Indiana vs Nebraska Pick

Indiana's unbeaten start has been built on clean quarterback play and a balanced offense. Josh Hoover can distribute the ball to Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh, but Nebraska's home crowd and the mobility of quarterback Anthony Colandrea make this a more challenging road assignment than some of the Hoosiers' earlier games. The Huskers can stay close if Colandrea avoids long-yardage situations and keeps the offense ahead of the chains. Indiana's advantage is its ability to maintain efficiency into the second half while forcing opponents to make the first costly mistake. Nebraska should have stretches of success, but the visitors have enough offensive depth to eventually clear a spread just above a touchdown.

Pick: Indiana -7.5

Playable number: Indiana -7.5 or better

Prediction: Indiana 34, Nebraska 23

Houston vs Kansas State Pick

Houston arrives with Conner Weigman playing efficient football, including 11 touchdown passes against one interception, and the Cougars have been excellent on third down. Kansas State presents a different problem in Avery Johnson, whose running ability complicates pass-rush assignments and has helped the Wildcats avoid sacks. The home team also had a bye to regroup after losing at Cincinnati. Houston's reported absences, including linebacker Jaden Yates, matter against a quarterback who turns missed containment into first downs. Kansas State does not need to overwhelm the Cougars to cover. A 31-24 result supports laying less than a field goal, but this is not a number to chase above three.

Pick: Kansas State -2.5

Playable number: Kansas State -3 or better

Prediction: Kansas State 31, Houston 24

Georgia vs Alabama Pick

Georgia's Gunner Stockton and Alabama's Keelon Russell can both produce explosive drives, yet this high-profile SEC meeting also offers reasons for patience. Georgia's defense is among the toughest units Alabama has faced, and both teams have incentives to protect their young quarterbacks from unnecessary risk. Severe-weather preparations around Tuscaloosa introduce another variable, although forecasts should not be mistaken for proof that rain will affect every snap. Georgia may try to lean on Nate Frazier and manageable downs, while Alabama can take a similar approach rather than inviting turnovers. A competitive game in the mid-20s offers a reasonable path beneath a total of 51.5.

Pick: Under 51.5

Playable number: Under at 51.5 or higher

Prediction: Alabama 24, Georgia 21

Tulsa vs Navy Pick

Navy's record has been unimpressive, but the Midshipmen's option rushing game remains an awkward preparation challenge for a Tulsa defense accustomed to more conventional offenses. Defensive discipline matters on every snap: overreacting to the dive can expose the quarterback keep or pitch. Tulsa has been competitive on the road and can test Navy with its passing game, so this is not a spot to lay a large spread. The number is only 1.5, however, and Navy's ability to manage possessions in Annapolis is a meaningful advantage. One additional sustained drive or decisive fourth-down stop could be enough to produce the home cover.

Pick: Navy -1.5

Playable number: Navy -1.5 or better

Prediction: Navy 27, Tulsa 23

Texas vs Oklahoma Pick

Texas arrives at the Cotton Bowl unbeaten and ranked No. 1, with Arch Manning leading the stronger offense. Oklahoma has struggled for consistency with John Mateer, particularly when protection issues force long-yardage throws. The Sooners' defense gives them a more promising route to cover than their offense gives them to win, however. This rivalry is priced with a relatively low total, increasing the value of a spread above a touchdown. Texas can dictate field position and still win by six, especially if Oklahoma limits explosive plays and forces the Longhorns to settle for field goals. The underdog is the better side at 7.5, not at a diminished number.

Pick: Oklahoma +7.5

Playable number: Oklahoma +7.5 or better

Prediction: Texas 23, Oklahoma 17

Stanford vs Notre Dame Pick

Notre Dame has been operating at a different offensive level behind CJ Carr, and the Irish should be able to attack Stanford both through the air and on the ground. Stanford just surrendered 57 points to Wake Forest, so predicting a close game would require an implausibly optimistic view of the Cardinal defense. The betting question is different: can Notre Dame win by roughly six touchdowns? Davis Warren and Stanford need only a couple of productive drives to complicate that requirement, while the Irish may empty the bench and reduce tempo after building a commanding lead. Notre Dame is a comfortable projected winner, but the underdog receives enough points to cover in a blowout.

Pick: Stanford +39.5

Playable number: Stanford +38.5 or better

Prediction: Notre Dame 45, Stanford 10

San Diego State vs Oregon State Pick

Oregon State quarterback Braden Atkinson has transformed the Beavers' passing offense, with Jesse Legree supplying a dangerous downfield target. The Aztecs have not produced consistent offensive yardage, but recent defensive and special-teams scores helped them survive against Texas State. That same reliance on field position could keep Saturday's game more competitive than the offensive statistics alone suggest. Oregon State deserves favoritism at Reser Stadium, yet its spread has climbed from roughly 13.5 to 16.5. San Diego State can lose by two touchdowns and still cash, provided it avoids the early turnovers that would hand Atkinson extra possessions.

Pick: San Diego State +16.5

Playable number: San Diego State +15.5 or better

Prediction: Oregon State 34, San Diego State 20

North Dakota State vs UNLV Pick

North Dakota State has justified its move into Mountain West play with an unbeaten start and a defense that shut Wyoming out 28-0. The Bison can control games on the ground and have earned their status as a short road favorite. UNLV, however, is not short of attacking options. Jackson Arnold can extend plays and force North Dakota State to defend the middle of the field, and the Rebels showed scoring resilience in their victory over California. This line has crossed the important three-point mark, making a field-goal Bison win sufficient for a UNLV cover. The venue and price favor the home underdog even while North Dakota State remains the likelier outright winner.

Pick: UNLV +3.5

Playable number: UNLV +3 or better

Prediction: North Dakota State 27, UNLV 24

USC vs Penn State Pick

Penn State's White Out atmosphere will challenge any visiting offense, but the Nittany Lions have more pressing issues than generating noise. They allowed 406 rushing yards against Northwestern and need to reestablish basic tackling discipline against Jayden Maiava's USC attack. The Trojans have shown an ability to recover from deficits, including a late rally against Washington, and they can stress the defense through several receivers and backs. Penn State's Rocco Becht is capable of answering, especially if the crowd creates early turnovers. At a line near pick'em, USC's more convincing recent offensive form gives the road team a legitimate outright-win case.

Pick: USC +1.5

Playable number: USC +1.5 or better

Prediction: USC 28, Penn State 24

Air Force vs Northern Illinois Pick

Air Force beat Navy 14-9 but lost quarterback Liam Szarka to a season-ending injury. That is a particularly significant disruption for an option offense, where the quarterback's reads and timing with the backfield shape almost every possession. Northern Illinois is still searching for its first win, but its defense can keep this matchup competitive by staying disciplined against the dive and refusing to surrender the pitch edge. The Falcons are the better team on the available evidence, yet laying more than a touchdown with a replacement ball handler on the road is a demanding price. Take the points with the Huskies rather than asking them to win outright.

Pick: Northern Illinois +7.5

Playable number: Northern Illinois +7 or better

Prediction: Air Force 21, Northern Illinois 17

Boise State vs Fresno State Pick

Boise State has the more polished passing offense, with Maddux Madsen entering on an 11-touchdown, zero-interception run. Fresno State counters with a defense that has allowed roughly 16 points a game and has been difficult to move against consistently. Jayden Mandal and the Bulldogs' offense need to protect the ball and create enough first downs to keep that defense fresh. This series has also been competitive recently, and the game is in Fresno. Boise State remains the likely winner, but the difference between +6.5 and the full +7 is meaningful in a contest projected around a field goal. The home dog is the value side at the stated number.

Pick: Fresno State +7

Playable number: Fresno State +6.5 or better

Prediction: Boise State 27, Fresno State 24

How to Use Saturday’s College Football Picks

A pick made at one price is not automatically a pick at another. A move through the key football numbers of three, seven or 14 can change the value of a spread, while a two-point decline in a game total can erase the room that made an Under worth playing. The numbers above are the prices identified in Friday's market review, not a guarantee that the same line will remain available Saturday morning.

The featured totals in UCLA-Oregon and LSU-Kentucky depend on controlled possessions and avoiding short-field touchdowns. Kansas State's recommendation depends on laying no more than a field goal. For the larger underdogs, a competitive result does not require an outright upset. Check the latest odds, confirmed personnel and game conditions before placing a bet, particularly the weather and event status for Georgia-Alabama.
