FAU vs UL-Monroe Picks and Prediction for Saturday September 26 2026
The Florida Atlantic Owls visit the UL-Monroe Warhawks at JPS Field at Malone Stadium in Monroe, Louisiana, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM ET with coverage on ESPN+. Florida Atlantic enters at 2-1 overall and riding a two-game winning streak after beating Navy 38-30 and FIU 16-10. This will be FAUβs first trip to Monroe since leaving the Sun Belt after the 2012 season. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Florida Atlantic Has Responded After a Difficult Opener
FAUβs 2-1 record becomes more impressive when considering how the season started. The Owls traveled to Florida and were overwhelmed 66-21, but they did not allow that result to derail their September. FAU returned home and defeated Navy 38-30 before grinding out a 16-10 victory over FIU.
Those two victories showed different sides of the Owls. FAU proved capable of winning a higher-scoring game against Navy and then handled a much more defensive contest against FIU. That versatility is encouraging before the Owls head back on the road.
The biggest question is whether FAU can carry its home improvement into Monroe. The Owls are 2-0 at home but 0-1 away, although that road defeat came against a dramatically stronger Florida opponent. UL-Monroe represents a far more reasonable test of FAUβs ability to win away from Boca Raton.
UL-Monroe Gets an Opportunity at Home
UL-Monroe returns to Malone Stadium for a nonconference matchup against an FAU program with which it has considerable history. The teams have met nine times, and Florida Atlantic has won only twice. Interestingly, both FAU victories came in Monroe.
The Warhawks need to prevent Florida Atlantic from establishing offensive rhythm. The Owls demonstrated against Navy that they can generate points when a game opens up, but their 16-10 win over FIU showed they can also remain patient when possessions become more valuable.
Home field should keep UL-Monroe competitive, particularly if the Warhawks can make FAU sustain long drives. The matchup becomes much more difficult if FAU starts creating short fields or explosive plays.
FAU vs UL-Monroe Picks and Prediction
Pick: Florida Atlantic Moneyline
FAU has produced the stronger early-season evidence. The Owls recovered from their blowout loss at Florida by beating Navy and FIU, demonstrating both offensive upside and an ability to win a lower-scoring game. UL-Monroeβs home field makes laying a substantial spread less attractive, so the moneyline is my preferred side.
Pick: Under 55.5 or Higher
FAUβs latest game finished with only 26 combined points, and its defense held FIU to 10. UL-Monroe should also benefit from keeping this game controlled rather than trying to trade possessions. If the total reaches the mid-50s, the under provides enough margin for a game that could settle into the 27-20 range.
Final Picks: Florida Atlantic Moneyline and Under 55.5 or Higher
