Panthers Struggle to Get Much Offense Going
The Florida International Panthers struggled in their most recent game as they lost on the road to the Penn State Nittany Lions 34-0. Quarterback Keyone Jenkins struggled as he completed just 15-of-28 passes for 127 yards and an interception on the day.
While the passing game not doing well, the rushing game held its own. Running back Kejon Owens led the team as he recorded 15 rushes for 78 yards (5.2 yards per attempt) as the most productive offensive skill position for FIU against one of the best teams in the sport.
Florida International’s defense did as good of a job as you could hope this team was able to do. The Nittany Lions were held to 3-for-12 on third downs and 2-for-4 on fourth down attempts. However, Penn State was able to run the ball as well as ever, averaging 6.7 yards per carry as a program.

Florida Atlantic (FAU) Owls vs. Florida International (FIU) Panthers Pick
Spread Pick for Florida Atlantic (FAU) Owls vs. Florida International (FIU) Panthers
- Florida Atlantic Owls +2.5 ( units)
Momentum can be a real thing, and these offenses are coming into this game with two completely different outlooks. Caden Veltkamp is coming off arguably his best collegiate game of his life, while Keyone Jenkins is struggling to find consistency in the passing game. FAU’s offense looks completely more alive than FIU’s does heading into this game. The Owls are 7-0 ATS in their previous seven games against the Panthers so take the Florida Atlantic Owls to secure a victory.
Over/Under Pick for Florida Atlantic (FAU) Owls vs. Florida International (FIU) Panthers
- Under 58.5 (4 units)
The weather is not expected to be good at Pitbull Stadium for this game, although storms and lightning are expected to be present. Neither offense has really been able to do too much offensively as they are both outside the top 90 schools in terms of yards per play this season, with FAU being 91st with 5.2 yards per play while FIU is 94th with 5.1 yards per play through their first two games. All of this is to say to take under 58.5 total points here.
