San Jose State Looks to End on a High Note
San Jose State is averaging 22.1 points per game. The offense has put up good yardage totals at 418.8 yards per game, led by a passing attack that is 9th nationally at 298.5 yards per contest. Quarterback Walker Eget has thrown for 3,058 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions while completing 59 percent of his attempts. Steve Chavez-Soto leads the rushing attack with 398 yards and seven touchdowns. Danny Scudero has recorded 1,240 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 84 receptions.
San Jose State allows 31.7 points per game and 403.7 total yards. Opponents have had success through the air as the Spartans are giving up 255 passing yards per contest. The rush defense allows 148.7 yards, and the pass defense has struggled to generate stops. It has not helped that the -11 turnover margin has put the defense in difficult spots all season. Time of possession has also been a factor, as the Spartans average only 28:22.

Fresno State vs. San Jose State Pick
Spread Pick for Fresno State vs. San Jose State
- Fresno State -2.5 (4 Units)
Fresno State has the matchup advantage with the better defense and more consistent run game. The Bulldogs allow just 299.5 yards per game and match up well with a San Jose State offense that has struggled to score despite moving the ball well. Fresno State's rush offense should help control possessions, and the +2 turnover margin is a meaningful advantage over San Jose State's -11. If Fresno State does not throw interceptions, the Bulldogs should cover the short number.
Over/Under Pick for Fresno State vs. San Jose State
- Under 45.5 (4 Units)
The under fits based on recent struggles in converting drives into points by both teams. Fresno State's defense is in the top 15 in total yards allowed and ninth in pass defense. San Jose State scores only 22.1 despite strong total yardage totals. Fresno State averages 25.1 and has had issues finishing in the red zone. Both teams’ most recent games fell well short of this total, and the defensive matchup favors another low-scoring outcome.
