The Yellow Jackets will be welcoming in 24 new players, while 32 players will be leaving the program. Eric Singleton Jr. and Romello Height are the biggest names to leave the program, while Eric Rivers and Akelo Stone are the main names to enter the program. Georgia Tech acquired a lot of depth in this transfer portal, and so far, it has been working.
Haynes King is leading the QB room with a 69.7% completion percentage, two touchdowns, and one interception. He has thrown for 515 yards as well. Jamal Haynes leads the team in yards rushing with 290, but Haynes King is close behind with 274 yards. King has the most touchdowns with five, while Malachi Hosley is second on the team with four. Canion and Malik Rutherford each have a team-high eleven receptions on the year while the former has a team-high 167 yards receiving. He also has two of the four receiving touchdowns. Kyle Efford has the most total tackles with 20 while Clayton Powell-Lee is close behind with 19. Stone and Amontrae Bradford each have two sacks, while Ahmari Harvey and Tae Harris had two passes defended each. Omar Daniels has the only interception on the season thus far. Six players are listed on the injury report and four of them are listed as questionable.
Wake Forest Hoping for a Home Win
Wake Forest last played on September 11th, losing to NC State by a score of 34-24. Robby Ashford went 21/35 for 252 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. Demond Claiborne rushed for a team-high 35 yards, but scored a touchdown. Robby Ashford also rushed for a touchdown despite gaining only 21 yards. Chris Barnes led the receiving core with 76 yards while Claiborne caught a team-high eight passes. Dylan Hazen had six tackles and three tackle assists while Nick Andersen earned five tackles and six assists.
Wake Forest has 35 incoming players from the transfer portal and 27 outgoing players. Horatio Fields, Luke Petitbon, Jamare Glasker, and Deuce Alexander are some of the key players to leave the program, while Wake Forest is bringing in Fa'alili Fa'amoe, Ashaad Williams, Carlos Hernandez, and Devin Kylany.
Wake Forest is rolling with Robby Ashford as the primary QB with a 63.5% completion percentage, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Demond Claiborne leads the rushing attack with 247 yards on 25 carries and a team-high four touchdowns. Chris Barnes is the leading receiver with 12 catches for 248 yards, but has yet to catch a TD pass. Nick Andersen has 23 tackles to lead the team and Langston Hardy has the most sacks on the team with 2.5. Georgia Tech vs. Wake Forest Pick
Spread Pick for Georgia Tech vs Wake Forest
- Georgia Tech -13.5 (4 units)
Wake Forest has no momentum with a loss to NC State and they have failed to cover the spread in four of their last five games played. On the other side, Georgia Tech has covered the spread in three of its last four matches and they can nearly taste a top-12 team, which means a playoff spot. I don't trust Robby Ashford at the moment to have a solid performance, especially considering they lost to a subpar team in NC State. Georgia Tech has won the last four meetings between these two and covered in the last two meetings.
Over/Under pick for Georgia Tech vs Wake Forest
- Under 52 (4 units)
I don't have any confidence in Robby Ashford to compete well against a Georgia Tech offense. Wake Forest has hit the under in eight of their last ten games played and the under has been hit in four of their last five meetings against each other. The Georgia Tech defense has averaged less than 20 points against per game and Wake Forest isn't exactly known for their offensive prowess. I expect Georgia Tech to run out the clock as we get closer to the end of the game, as the Yellow Jackets should pull away with the lead.
