Dawgs rolling since losing to the Tide
Georgia has won three straight over Kentucky (35-14), Auburn (20-10) and Ole Miss (45-35) on Oct. 18 since falling to Alabama 24-21 at home on Sept. 27. In their win over the Rebels, the Bulldogs were down 35-26 in the third quarter before outscoring Ole Miss 17-0 in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs tallied over 500 yards of offense against Ole Miss and possessed the ball for over 37 minutes. Gunnar Stockton had a great game with 289 yards passing (26 of 31) with four TDs, no picks, while rushing for 59 yards and a TD. The only negative that came out of the game was that Georgia lost wide receiver Colbie Young (336 yards receiving) to a fractured ankle.
Stockton is completing 70.4% of his passes for 1,548 yards with 10 TDs and one pick, while rushing for 279 yards and seven scores. Running backs Chauncey Bowens (376 yards, 4 TDs) and Nate Frazier (349 yds) have been a strong duo.

Defense has been an issue, especially against the pass as Georgia is allowing over 222 yards per game to rank 72nd in the nation. They are solid on offense, averaging 33.7 points per game and 190.6 rushing yards.
CB Kyron Jones (undisclosed) is out for this game.
Who will wind up at Florida as their new head coach?
The Gators were another program that spent millions on a buyout for Napier, whose team lost three straight games to USF (18-16), LSU (20-10) and Miami (26-7), before bouncing back with a win over Texas, and losing to Texas A&M (34-17). That was the final straw as the Gators were 2-4 heading into their game against Mississippi State.
Despite beating the Bulldogs, Napier was let go and Gonzales, the wide receivers coach, took over. The good news is that he had a bye week to get things together. It starts with QB DJ Lagway, who has had a very up-and-down season for the Gators. He threw two more picks against Mississippi State and now has nine interceptions on the season (and nine touchdowns).
The running game was solid against the Bulldogs, led by Jadan Baugh, who had 150 yards, a career-high. He has 611 yards on the season, but no other Florida back has more than 98 yards. Florida has averaged just 128.1 rushing yards per game (102nd) and passes for 235 yards per game (67th). The defense hasn't been bad, as they allow 219.9 yards per game in the air. But turnover margin has been an issue as they rank 117th in turnover margin at -0.8.
Florida is banged up defensively, with two corners out (A. Gates, D. Johnson) and J. Toombs is questionable due to an undisclosed injury.
Florida vs. Georgia Pick
Spread Pick for Georgia vs. Florida
- Florida +7.5 (4 units)
It would be easy to take Georgia off a bye and go against Florida after a coaching change. But this is a flawed Georgia team and a talented Florida squad that underachieved this season, yet they beat Texas and Mississippi State in two of their last three games. Georgia not having their second-best receiver could also hamper them somewhat. Lagway can be very good against a mediocre pass defense. If he takes care of the football, the Gators can get the upset win. Although the Bulldogs have dominated this series lately, Florida has covered in two of the last three games and three of their last five.
Over/Under Pick for Georgia vs. Florida
- Over 50.5 (4 units)
The weather should be very nice in Jacksonville so both passing games should do well. Stockton has been very efficient, and both teams have some explosive wideouts and running backs. Georgia just put up 43 points against Ole Miss and they've scored 35 against Kentucky and 44 against Tennessee, but they needed points against the Vols and Rebels, because their defense was also getting shredded. Florida's offense isn't quite as explosive, but they can easily put up 29 as they did against Texas in this one. They may have to beat this high-powered Bulldogs' team.
