Can Iowa State continue their unbeaten start to the year?
The 14 Iowa State Cyclones have played just one game on the road this season, but with a 5-0 start, including a 1-0 record on the road and a 1-0 record against ranked opponents, people around college football are starting to take notice of this team. Offensively, the Cyclones rely heavily on their efficiency, with the team ranking top-30 in the nation in yards per attempt, completion percentage and QB rating, and with the team allowing just 309 yards of offense a game, when they're at their best, they're an incredibly balanced squad.
Under center, the Cyclones have gotten fantastic production from junior QB Rocco Becht, who has a 7/2 TD/INT ratio on the season thus far, and with five extra scores on the ground, this balanced attack can beat anyone in college football. Becht also has thrown for 1,103 yards and tossed for 240 yards in their win over Arizona last week. Last time out for Iowa State was a dominant home win over Arizona, with the team rushing for five touchdowns on the day as they limited their opponents to 360 total yards, winning 39-14 on the back of two massive turnovers. East Carolina transfer wide receiver Chase Sowell had a career-high 146 against the Wildcats.
Can Cincinnati pick up a massive upset win?
The Cincinnati Bearcats lost in their first game of the season, but since then, they've gone a perfect 3-0, with the offense blossoming into one of the best in all of college football during that span, with their most dominant victory of the year thus far coming at home. For Cincinnati, this success comes completely on the back of their offense, one that now ranks third in the nation in yards per play while being top-20 in total yards per game, rushing yards per play, as well as coming in seventh in quarterback rating this season.
That play at quarterback comes from Brendan Sorsby, who has tossed an impressive 10 touchdowns this season, and with the junior leading the team with four touchdowns on the ground as well, he's blossomed into one of the most dominant players at the position in college football. Last time out for the Bearcats was a tight road win over Kansas, with 388 passing yards and 215 yards on the ground showing just how high-powered this offense is, with the defense forcing one crucial turnover as they came away winners 37-34 despite allowing 597 yards on the day. Cyrus Allen leads the way with 23 catches for 273 yards and five touchdowns.
