Thundering Herd Looking to Get Over .500

The Marshall Thundering Herd have been doing alright to open the season as they are 2-2 after their 42-28 road win over the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders last time out. The offense has been struggling a bit as they are 85th in the country with 26.8 points per game. Quarterback Carlos Del Rio-Wilson has done well in limited passes this season as he completed 27-of-34 (79.4%) of his passes for 379 yards with six passing touchdowns without any interceptions while also rushing 29 times for 84 yards (2.9 yards per carry) and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Marshall Thundering Herd vs. Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Pick

Spread Pick for Marshall vs. Louisiana

  • Marshall Thundering Herd -115 (5 units)

The Marshall Thundering Herd are in a position where it should have the advantage. Louisiana lost Walker Howard with an injury in their opening game, so their offense has been bruised as a result. The Ragin' Cajuns are not doing too well this season and are not able to throw the ball with much confidence this season. Marshall is the overall better team, so take them to win on the road as the best option here.

Over/Under Pick for Marshall vs. Louisiana

  • Under 47.5 (5 units)

Neither team has shown the ability to consistently move the ball and extend drives on third downs throughout the first handful of games this season. Marshall is 19-of-58 (32.76%) on third downs so far, while Louisiana is 18-of-52 (34.62%) heading into this game. The Ragin Cajuns are not much threat passing the football so far as they are averaging 4.1 yards per pass attempt and only have one passing touchdown, so they are not going to hold up their part of the bargain scoring in the game. All in all, go with under 47.5 total points to be scored in the game.
