Miami (FL) vs Notre Dame Picks and Prediction for Saturday November 7 2026

By: Kim Smith Published 11/01/2026, 07:51 PM ET

Miami is 8-0. Ranked No. 1 in the country.

And Notre Dame is favored.

That’s enough to get a conversation started at any sports bar in America.

I know Notre Dame is at home. I know the Irish are 7-1 and have been playing good football. But Miami hasn’t lost a game, and the Hurricanes have been scoring a ridiculous number of points.

I’m taking the unbeaten team and the points.

No. 1 Miami visits No. 5 Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana, on Saturday, November 7, with kickoff at 7:30 PM ET on NBC. Notre Dame is favored by 3.5 points at BetRivers, with the total at 55.5. Miami beat Notre Dame 27-24 in their last meeting in August 2025. The South Bend temperature, wind, gusts and precipitation forecast still need a final check. Miami Hurricanes Have Been Scoring Against Everybody

Miami is 8-0, including 4-0 on the road. The Hurricanes just beat North Carolina 38-35, and that was actually one of their closer games. Before that, Miami beat Pitt 52-23 and Florida State 43-35 in double overtime. This team has been finding ways to win, even when the defense isn’t at its best.

The Hurricanes have scored at least 33 points in every game this season. They’ve scored 41 against Clemson, 52 against Pitt and 38 against North Carolina. That’s impressive production, and it tells me Miami doesn’t need everything to go perfectly to move the football. But the defense has allowed 35 points in two of its last three games. That’s the concern against Notre Dame. The Irish have enough offensive talent to make Miami pay if the Hurricanes keep giving up big plays.

Miami’s offensive leader totals and final injury designations still need a complete verified check before publication. I’m not going to invent passing or rushing statistics. What matters from the results is that Miami has scored 133 points across its last three games. That’s more than 44 per game. Notre Dame’s defense is good, but this is a different challenge from facing Navy or Stanford.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish Have Been Excellent at Home

Notre Dame is 7-1, including 3-0 at home. The Irish beat Navy 35-13 Saturday after losing 28-24 at BYU in their previous game. That BYU loss is the only blemish on the record. Notre Dame has also beaten North Carolina 37-26, Stanford 58-7 and Purdue 49-10. That’s a strong body of work.

The Irish have been scoring plenty, and the defense has been especially good at home. They shut out Rice 52-0, held Michigan State to ten and Stanford to seven. Now, Miami is a much better offensive team than those opponents, so I’m not expecting Notre Dame to hold the Hurricanes to ten points. But the Irish have shown they can make teams work for their scoring chances.

Notre Dame’s passing and rushing leaders need a final verified statistical update, as does the injury report. The important matchup question is whether the Irish can keep Miami’s offense off the field. If Notre Dame controls possession and avoids turnovers, it can absolutely win. But the Hurricanes have been too explosive for me to assume that approach will work for four quarters.

Miami vs Notre Dame Picks and Prediction

Miami +3.5

I’m taking Miami plus 3.5. Notre Dame is at home, and that matters. The Irish have been excellent in South Bend, and Miami’s defense has been giving up more points lately. But the Hurricanes are 8-0, have scored at least 33 in every game and already beat Notre Dame last season. I think Miami has enough offense to answer when the Irish score. This feels like a game that comes down to the final possession. Give me the points, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Miami wins outright.

Over 55.5 Points

I’ll take Over 55.5. Miami has scored 133 points in its last three games, and Notre Dame has put up at least 35 in five of its eight contests. Both teams can move the football. The concern is Notre Dame controlling the clock and keeping Miami from getting enough possessions. A cold or windy South Bend evening could also hurt the passing games. But with the offensive production we’ve seen, I think both teams get into the high 20s. Something like Miami 31-28 sounds right.

Final Picks: Miami +3.5 and Over 55.5 Points
