The Redhawks are currently 4th in the MAC conference thanks to their 1-0 conference record despite their 2-3 record overall. Thankfully for them, the best team in the conference has a 3-3 record overall, so a couple quality wins will push them to the top. Miami (OH) is riding a two-game winning streak, and they are hoping to push it to three with a win here. Meanwhile, Akron is two spots behind the Redhawks with a 1-1 conference record and a 2-4 overall record. Fortunately for the Zips, they are playing at home where they are 2-1 overall. Miami (OH) only has three players listed on the injury report, with Kenny Tracy and Walker Jr. listed as questionable. Myers is the only one listed as out for this upcoming contest.
Finn is the leader on offense for the Cyclones with a 55.7% completion percentage, three touchdowns, four interceptions, and 635 yards. Kenny Tracy is the leading running back on the squad with 49 carries, 272 yards, and a touchdown. However, Jones is the leading rusher in terms of rushing touchdowns with two. Among the receivers, Keith Reynolds has the most receptions with 16, but Kam Perry has the most yards receiving with 428. Eli Blakely is leading the defense with 44 total tackles and 26 solo tackles. Adam Trick has a team-high four sacks, while Silas Walters has the most passes defended with four. Walters is also tied with Hondru with two interceptions each on the year.

Cyrus Durham led the defense with four tackles and five tackle assists along with two sacks. Julien Laventure also chipped in a pair of sacks in the effort.
While Akron has 16 players listed on its injury report, every single player is listed as questionable to play in this contest.

Miami (OH) vs Akron Pick
Spread Pick for Miami (OH) vs Akron
- Akron +11.5 (4 points)
To me, I don't see as much of a difference here that would justify an 11.5 point spread in favor of the Redhawks. Akron is a much better team at home and neither team has exactly stellar QB play, with both starters completing less than 56% of their passes this season. It's easy to buy into the Miami (OH) hype with a couple of solid wins the last two weeks, but they also faltered in the first few games of the season. Akron has covered in three of their last four games and Miami (OH) is 1-2 on the road this season. The Redhawks still may win, but I expect Akron to make this competitive with arguably the best rusher between the two teams in Grant.
Over/Under pick for Miami (OH) vs Akron
- Under 46 (4 units)
Neither team particularly wows me on the offensive side of the ball, and I have more confidence that both teams will rely on their rushing attack to push the game in their favor. That will eat up clock and create fewer chances for the opposing offenses to score and add points. In their head-to-head meetings, these teams have combined for less than 46 points in four of their last five games. Miami (OH) has given up a combined 14 points across their last two games played and they are looking to turn the corner here. Akron is a bit of a wild card, as they have given up seven points one week and then 45 the next. However, I think they should do a better job in front of their home crowd.
