This game will be a much tougher task for Bill Belichick's squad. The Heels fell in the first game to TCU 48-14, before bouncing back at Charlotte (20-3) in Week 2. Quarterback Gio Lopez, a transfer from South Alabama, is completing 58.3% of his passes for 343 yards with three TDs and a pick.
UNC’s offense has shown there is room for improvement as they are tied for 89th in college football with 25.0 points per game. Their defense has been their calling card early on as their 19.0 points per game allowed ranks tied for 20th in the nation.

Knights Looking to Remain Perfect

They were able to dominate in the running game as they averaged more than a first down per carry with 11.1 yards per attempt. North Carolina Tar Heels at UCF Knights Pick
Spread Pick for North Carolina Tar Heels at UCF Knights
- UCF Knights -7.5 (4 units)
The North Carolina Tar Heels may have seemingly found their stride against an FCS team, but they are not doing it where it is expected every week as the first two weeks, the Tar Heels failed to score more than 20 points. UCF has a bit of an advantage with having a week off between games, allowing the coaching staff for the Knights to get to draw things up more against Bill Belichick. All in all, go with the UCF Knights as they look like the more complete roster and should step up at home.
Over/Under Pick for North Carolina Tar Heels at UCF Knights
- Over 46.5 (4 units)
This North Carolina offense was able to showcase their ability to move the ball last week and there has been improvement with the offense each week since the opening game of the season. Since Gio Lopez came off the bench for an injured Max Johnson and the offense has just completely taken a new step. Both defenses have positive turnover ratios, meaning they are able to record takeaways and give their offenses shorter fields to operate. These offenses have been effective under center for the Tar Heels are completing 61.5% of their passes while the Knights are at 64.9% through the first few games. Go with OVER 46.5 POINTS as these teams are looking to have strong offensive games this season and should bring that here.
