Oregon vs USC Picks and Prediction for Saturday September 26 2026
The No. 21 Oregon Ducks visit the No. 12 USC Trojans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET with national coverage on NBC. Oregon enters after an extraordinary 84-0 victory over Portland State, while USC comes home following a 42-35 Big Ten road victory over Rutgers. This is a major early-season conference matchup between two programs with legitimate postseason ambitions. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. Oregon’s Offense Just Delivered a Statement
Oregon’s 84-0 destruction of Portland State was obviously produced against an overmatched opponent, but the level of execution still deserves attention. The Ducks established an Autzen Stadium scoring record and demonstrated just how explosive their offense can become when given favorable matchups.
The opponent changes dramatically Saturday. USC has already demonstrated its own offensive ability, so Oregon cannot expect another game in which its defense provides unlimited margin for error. The Ducks need to prove that their explosiveness translates from an FCS opponent to a ranked Big Ten road game.
Oregon’s biggest opportunity may come against a USC defense that just surrendered 35 points to Rutgers. The Trojans won that game, but Rutgers generated enough offense to remain within one score. Oregon possesses considerably more offensive upside and should enter Los Angeles believing it can create similar opportunities.
USC Has Been Producing Points Consistently
USC has opened its season with impressive offensive production. The Trojans beat San Jose State 42-26 and Fresno State 39-0 before continuing their strong start. Their latest test came on the road at Rutgers, where USC emerged with a 42-35 victory.
The Rutgers result is both encouraging and concerning. Winning a Big Ten road game while scoring 42 demonstrates USC’s offensive ceiling, but allowing 35 raises obvious questions before facing Oregon. The Trojans cannot count on simply winning another scoring race if their defense repeatedly gives the Ducks explosive opportunities.
Home field is the separator. Oregon has to enter the Coliseum and deal with a USC team comfortable playing at a high tempo. If the Trojans can establish an early lead, they may force Oregon into an aggressive game script that increases volatility.
Oregon vs USC Picks and Prediction
Pick: USC -3 or Better
This is close enough that home field breaks the tie. Both offenses have demonstrated substantial upside, but USC has already been tested in a close Big Ten road game and now returns to Los Angeles. Oregon’s 84-point performance is eye-catching, but the jump from Portland State to USC is enormous. At -3 or better, I’ll back the Trojans at home.
Pick: Over 61.5 or Lower
This is one matchup where I am willing to attack a relatively high total. USC just played a 42-35 game, Oregon scored 84 last week, and both teams have the offensive personnel to punish defensive mistakes. A game around 35-31 or 38-31 is realistic, giving the over value if the number remains around 61.5 or lower.
Final Picks: USC -3 or Better and Over 61.5 or Lower
