The #7 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (7-0, 4-0 ACC) have cracked the top 10 in the latest AP Poll, and they’ll try to stay perfect on Saturday when they host the Syracuse Orange (3-4, 1-3 ACC). We’ve got you covered with our Syracuse vs. Georgia Tech prediction. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 ET from Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, GA. Looking to win big this football season? We have the best College Football Picks to help you out!

Orange Drop Third Straight Game

This is the second season of the Fran Brown era for the Syracuse Orange, and the football program has gone 13-7 (6-6 ACC) during this tenure. This year’s team got off to a solid 3-1 start–including a nice 34-21 win over Clemson–but they’ve now dropped three straight conference games. The recent string of defeats came at the hands of Duke (38-3), SMU (31-18), and Pittsburgh (30-13), most recently. The Orange are 3-3-1 ATS, and they’ve gone 4-3 to the under this season.

In terms of personnel, it’s sophomore QB Rickie Collins taking over the offense since starter Steve Angeli went down earlier this year with an Achilles injury. Collins has thrown for 733 yards on a 53.5% completion rate, adding five touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also has 102 rushing yards and a touchdown on 30 carries, but RB Yasin Willis (353 yards, 4 TD) is the top running back in terms of production this year. Out wide, WR Johntay Cook leads the way with 456 yards and two touchdowns on 37 receptions.

  • Offensively, the Orange are scoring 20.2 points per game (104th), while averaging 364.7 yards per week (79th).
  • Defensively, they are 103rd in the country this year, conceding 30.8 points per game. They’re allowing 426.3 yards per contest, which is 105th.

#7 Yellow Jackets Stay Perfect at 7-0

Coach Brent Key is back for his third season as the lead man of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football program, and this year’s team is still unbeaten entering Week 9. His Jackets are 7-0, and they’ve notched notable victories over Colorado (27-20), #12 Clemson (24-21), Wake Forest (30-29), and Duke (27-18), most recently. Tech is profitable 5-2 ATS and they’ve gone 4-3 to the under in 2025.

QB Haynes King leads the offense this season, and he has been exceptional. In the passing game, he has logged 1,176 yards on a 70.6% completion rate, adding four touchdowns and one interception. King is also the leading rusher with 560 yards and 10 touchdowns on 101 carries (5.5 YPC). RB Jamal Haynes is the top running back with 409 yards and three touchdowns on 81 totes (5.0 YPC). Out wide, WRs Isiah Canion (301 yards, 1 TD) and Eric Rivers (257 yards, 1 TD) are the main targets in the passing game for King.

  • Georgia Tech is now favored to win the ACC championship at +220, and they’re priced at +12000 to win the national title.
  • Georgia Tech’s offense has been fantastic this season, ranking 35th in scoring (31.3 PPG), while putting up 426.2 yards per game (33rd).
  • On the defensive side, the Yellow Jackets are 34th this season, allowing 22.0 points per game. In terms of yardage, they’re 67th, conceding 377.5 yards per contest.

Syracuse vs. Georgia Tech Pick

Spread Pick for Syracuse vs. Georgia Tech

  • Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets -16.5 (-112) (5 units)

I’m still a bit hesitant to lay multiple touchdowns’ worth of points with Georgia Tech since they’re not really built to stretch out big leads, but also, I don’t think this is the time to fade the Yellow Jackets as big favorites.

Tech will take on a Syracuse team that has looked atrocious since moving to backup quarterback Rickie Collins. They’ve gone 0-3 in his last three games, posting an average margin of victory of -21.7 points per game. The Orange are also one of the most turnover-prone teams in the nation, ranking 130th in turnover margin per game (-1.3). Factor in that this is a road game for them, and I think you can start to see the path for a Tech cover.

Over/Under Pick for Syracuse vs. Georgia Tech

  • Under 53.5 (-110) (5 units)

Keeping with the anti-Collins angle, this Orange offense is averaging only 11.3 points per game in his last three starts. They’ve yet to hit the 20-point mark during this 0-3 SU stretch. The under is now 4-2 in Syracuse’s last six games, as well as going 4-3 in Tech’s seven games this year.

Additionally, with the way Georgia Tech plays, it lends itself to an “under type” of game. The Yellow Jackets run the ball on 60.1% of their plays, which is the 12th-most in the nation. Look for them to grind out a win on the ground and chew up the clock. I think we stay comfortably under this total and finish in the 30-10 range.
