Temple vs. Georgia Tech Prediction

The #18 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3-0, 1-0 ACC) are coming off of a huge win last weekend, and now they’ll try to stay perfect against the visiting Temple Owls (2-1, 0-0 AAC). We’ve got you covered with our Temple vs. Georgia Tech prediction. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 ET from Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, GA. Don’t get penalized! Owls Get Torched by the Sooners

It’s a new era for the Temple Owls, as the school decided to bring in Coach K.C. Keeler to take the reins of the program. He comes over after a 10-year stint at Sam Houston State, where he went 97-39 (65-21 CONF). So far, his Temple tenure is off to a respectable 2-1 start. The Owls took down UMASS (42-10) and Howard (55-7) in their opening games, but then got slaughtered when stepping up in competition last weekend against #13 Oklahoma (42-3). The Owls are 2-1 ATS and 2-1 to the over.

Redshirt senior quarterback Evan Simon has looked good in his second year with the program. He enters the weekend with 497 passing yards and an excellent 9/0 TD/INT ratio. This is a move in the right direction after he posted a 15/9 TD/INT mark in 2024. WR JoJo Bermudez has emerged as the top target out wide, hauling in 11 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown. RB Jay Ducker came over from Sam Houston State, and he leads the rushing attack with 239 yards and a touchdown on 36 carries (6.6 YPC).

  • From a sports betting perspective, the Owls own the ninth-shortest price (+7500) to win the AAC title.
  • Temple’s offense has been mediocre this season, ranking 80th in scoring (22.5 PPG), while putting up 285.5 yards per game (112th).
  • On the defensive side, the Owls are struggling this season, allowing 26.0 points per game (74th). In terms of yardage, they’re 91st, conceding 408.5 yards per contest.

#18 Yellow Jackets Take Care of Tigers

Meanwhile, Coach Brent Key and his Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are looking like the real deal in 2025. They came in at 18th in the most recent AP Poll, and honestly, I think that’s disrespectful considering their resume thus far. They opened up the season going into Boulder and taking down Colorado (27-20), before rattling off home wins against Gardner-Webb (59-12) and #12 Clemson (24-21). This team is legit, in my opinion. They’ve gone 3-0 ATS and have seen the under cash in two out of their three games.

The reason that I’m so high on Tech is that they have an absolute gamer in Haynes King under center. He has 354 yards on a 68.8% completion percentage through the air. He’s also the team’s leading rusher with 259 yards and four touchdowns on 44 carries (5.9 YPC). Jamal Haynes is the top running back, and he’s logged 183 yards and three touchdowns on 37 totes (4.9 YPC). WRs Isiah Canion (123 yards, 1 TD) and Eric Rivers (116 yards) are the main targets out wide.

  • Georgia Tech’s updated win total sits at 9.5 (-145/+115), and they’re priced at +400 to win the conference title.
  • Offensively, the YellowJackets are scoring 25.5 points per game (66th), while averaging 410.5 yards per week (47th).
  • Defensively, they’re 44th in the country this year, conceding 20.5 points per game. They’re allowing 343.0 yards per contest, which is 54th.

Temple vs. Georgia Tech Pick

Spread Pick for Temple vs. Georgia Tech

  • Temple Owls +23.5 (-110) (5 units)

I do think that Georgia Tech can be a frisky opponent on the national stage this season, but I am not confident in laying massive numbers with them from a betting perspective. They’re just not built or coached to cover huge spreads. In their two FBS games this year, Tech has posted an average margin of victory of only +5.5 points.

Meanwhile, Temple isn’t a powerhouse, but they do appear to be turning the page and taking a step forward under head coach K.C. Keeler. He has a veteran quarterback in Evan Simon, who has nine touchdown passes and no interceptions. The Owls are +1.5 in turnover margin per game, while Georgia Tech is -0.5. If the Owls take care of the ball and put together a couple of scoring drives, then I expect them to stay within the number.

Over/Under Pick for Temple vs. Georgia Tech

  • Under 51.5 (-110) (5 units)

As I mentioned, Georgia Tech isn’t built to cover big spreads. They’re going to be an “under team” in 2025 as well, considering they run the ball on 79.46% of their plays. That’s the fourth-highest rate in the nation! I fully expect Coach Brent Key to lean on this offensive line and rushing attack against an inferior opponent, which means this clock will be churning quickly.

Betting the under in Georgia Tech games has been a profitable venture, as it’s 12-6 in their last 18 games. Their defense has been sound this season, allowing only 20.5 points on average against FBS opposition. I think we see this game land in the 31-10 range and stay under the total.
