That matters considerably against Toledo. Temple isn't stepping into the Glass Bowl after being completely overwhelmed by Penn State. The Owls demonstrated that they can make a more talented opponent sustain drives and work through difficult situations. Against a Toledo offense without Penn State's overall talent level, that defensive performance gives Temple a realistic chance to keep the margin manageable.
The bigger concern is offensive production. Temple scored only nine points against Penn State, and consistently moving the football on the road remains the primary question. The Owls don't necessarily need 30 points to cover or win this matchup, but they do need to finish enough possessions to prevent Toledo from controlling the game through field position. If Temple reaches the low-to-mid 20s, this should be highly competitive.
