Texas A&M Dominating With Defense
The Aggies are coming off a win last week against Florida with a final score of 34-17. This would be the sixth win in a row for the Aggies as they remain undefeated on the season. Texas A&M will look to continue their win streak as they head on the road against Arkansas on Saturday and will continue a three-game road trip, not returning back home until 11/15 when they face South Carolina.
Texas A&M has dominated their competition this season thanks to its reliable defense, which ranks 42nd in points allowed and 19th in total yards allowed. The defensive line has been key to the Aggies' defense as they rank 5th in the country in sacks and are 23rd in rushing yards allowed this season. Leading the team in sacks is Senior Defensive Lineman Cashius Howell with eight sacks in his six games played this season.
The offense for the Aggies has also been lethal, sitting 38th in scoring this season and 29th in total yards. While the pass game has looked great for the Aggies, it has been their run game that has been especially troublesome for teams. Texas A&M is 34th in total rushing yards this season and 41st in yards per carry at 4.8. Senior Running Back LeβVeon Moss has led the team this season in rushing yards, totaling 389 in his six games played this season, averaging 64.8 yards per game and 5.6 yards per carry. However, he's out in this game due to an ankle injury.

Arkansas Looking To Break Losing Streak
The Razorbacks picked up another loss last week against Tennessee with a final score of 34-31. This is the fourth loss in a row for the Razorbacks as they look to break their losing streak at home on Saturday versus Texas A&M. Arkansas has yet to find a win against a conference opponent and continues to struggle on defense.
Arkansas is struggling on defense this season, ranking 112th in points allowed and 116th in total yards allowed. The Razorbacks have been unable to stop the opposition from driving down the field and this is apparent as they rank 119th in first downs this season. Teams have been able to take advantage of both the poor run defense and pass defense of the Razorbacks. A larger issue is their poor pass defense, which allows an average of 8.2 passing yards per reception. Interim coach Bobby Petrino, a former Razorbacks head coach, took over on an interim basis for Sam Pittman two weeks ago. He was fired after the Hogs were crushed by Notre Dame 56-13 on Sept. 27.
To counter their poor defense, the Razorbacks have attempted to generate more offense, which has shown to be successful but not enough to counter their poor defense. Arkansas is 29th in scoring this season and ranks 6th in the country in total yards this season. Both their pass game and run game have been impressive but their run game especially, has been lethal, ranking seventh in yards per carry at 6.1. Leading the team in the run game is Senior Running Back Mike Washington Jr. who leads the team with 524 total yards on the ground this season and is averaging 6.6 yards per carry.

Texas A&M Versus Arkansas Picks and Predictions
Spread Pick for Texas A&M vs.Arkansas
- Arkansas +7.5 (-105) (4 units)Β
Arkansas has a record of 6-4-0 against the spread versus conference opponents since 2024. Since 2024, Texas A&M has a record against the spread of 5-12-0 in games which they are a favorite. While the Razorbacks do struggle on defense, their one high note has been their offense. While I suspect Texas A&M will likely win, I do not think it will be by a large margin as Arkansas has produced plenty of points on offense and kept themselves close in games throughout the season. Texas A&M also seems to struggle in games where they have equal rest to their opponents. The Aggies are 4-7-0 against the spread in matches since 2024 where both teams have an equal amount of rest from the previous week. Texas A&M will also be without their star running back which may lead to them struggling to produce points themselves and lead to a much closer game that favors Arkansas.
Over/Under Pick for Texas A&M vs. Arkansas
- Over 61.5 (-105) ( 5 units)Β
Texas A&M has an over/under record of 4-0-0 since 2024 in games where they were a road favorite. Arkansas has an over/under record of 9-4-0 in games since 2024 where both teams have equal rest. Texas A&M should have little trouble producing points, just not to the same effectiveness that they have throughout this season due to their injuries. However, I still suspect the Aggies will produce enough points to go drive for drive against the Razorbacks. Arkansas relies on their offense to keep games close, and because of tha,t I have to look towards the over in a battle between conference opponents.
