Miami dropped to 5-4 on the year after a 24-20 road loss to Ohio.  Toledo won last year's meeting at home by a score of 30-20. Can Miami get revenge for that loss? Which team will reach bowl eligibility this week? Read on to see our Toledo vs Miami-Oh prediction.

If you are struggling to pick winners, you've come to the right place. We have the strongest College Football Picks

Rockets Hammer The Huskies

Toledo comes into this one riding high after a 42–3 demolition of Northern Illinois, a game where Tucker Gleason looked every bit like a quarterback in full control. Gleason completed 25-of-31 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns, adding a rushing score for good measure. Junior Vandeross III was his go-to target, hauling in six catches for 97 yards and a touchdown, while DeaMonte Trayanum chipped in with 88 total yards and another score. That win snapped a two-game skid and reminded everyone why Toledo’s offense ranks among the MAC’s best.

The Rockets are averaging 32.9 points and 438 yards per game, good for top-50 nationally in both categories. Gleason has thrown for over 2,000 yards with 15 touchdowns, and Trayanum’s physical running style gives them balance. Defensively, Toledo has been even better—ranking 2nd in the FBS in total defense and allowing just 14.6 points per game, which is 9th nationally. Their pass defense is elite, giving up only 142.6 yards per game, and they’ve forced 17 turnovers on the year. The only blemish has been penalties, where they rank dead last in the FBS at 71.9 yards per game.

Toledo sits at 3–2 in MAC play and needs this win to stay in the hunt for a conference title. They’ve been dominant at home but shaky on the road, going just 1–3 away from the Glass Bowl. If Gleason can stay clean and the defense continues to suffocate opponents, the Rockets have the firepower to take control early. But they’ll need to avoid the kind of mental lapses and flags that have cost them in tighter games.

Miami Loses Tough Road Game To Ohio

Miami (OH) returns home after a tough 24–20 loss to Ohio, a game where they couldn’t quite finish despite a solid outing from DeQuan Finn. Finn threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns, but a late interception proved costly. Jordan Brunson added 49 yards on the ground, and Cole Weaver led the receiving corps with 94 yards on six catches. The RedHawks are now 5–4 overall and 4–1 in MAC play, still very much alive in the race for the conference crown.

Offensively, Miami has been steady but unspectacular, averaging 25.3 points and 359.4 yards per game. Finn has thrown for 1,451 yards and nine touchdowns, but he’s also tossed six picks, and the passing game ranks just 98th nationally. Kamryn Perry has been the big-play threat with 657 yards and four scores, while Brunson has been reliable between the tackles. Defensively, the RedHawks have been solid, allowing 21.7 points per game and ranking 38th in total defense. Their biggest issue has been third-down stops, where they rank 123rd nationally, allowing opponents to convert 46% of the time.

This game is massive for Miami, especially with Buffalo on deck next week. A win here would put them in prime position to reach the MAC title game, and they’ve been tough at home, going 3–1 in Oxford. Head coach Chuck Martin will lean on his defense to keep Gleason in check and hope Finn can avoid turnovers. If they can control the clock and keep Toledo’s offense off the field, the RedHawks have a real shot to pull off the upset and take another step toward a conference championship.

Toledo vs Miami-Oh Pick

Toledo vs Miami-Oh Spread Pick

  • Toledo -3 (2 Units)

Toledo -3 feels like the right side in a matchup where the Rockets have the clear edge in explosiveness and defensive consistency. Tucker Gleason is coming off a near-flawless performance against Northern Illinois, and when he’s in rhythm, Toledo’s offense can pile up points in a hurry. They’re averaging nearly 33 points per game and rank top-50 nationally in total offense, while Miami (OH) has struggled to finish drives and ranks outside the top 90 in passing yards. With DeaMonte Trayanum providing balance on the ground and Junior Vandeross III stretching the field, Toledo has the weapons to put pressure on Miami early.

Defensively, Toledo has been elite—allowing just 14.6 points per game and ranking second in the nation in total defense. Their secondary has shut down opposing quarterbacks all season, and they’ve forced 17 turnovers, which could be critical against a Miami team that’s been turnover-prone. The Rockets have covered in four of their last five MAC games and are 3–1 ATS when favored by less than a touchdown. If they can avoid the penalty issues that have plagued them on the road, Toledo has the firepower and defensive edge to cover the number and stay in the hunt for a conference title.

Toledo vs Miami-Oh Over/Under Pick

  • Under 44.5 (3 Units)

Under 44.5 makes sense in a matchup featuring two of the MAC’s better defenses and a pair of offenses that can stall in key spots. Toledo allows just 14.6 points per game and has one of the stingiest secondaries in the country, while Miami (OH) gives up just over 21 per contest and thrives on limiting big plays. Both teams rank outside the top 90 in third-down conversion rate, and with so much at stake in the conference race, expect a more conservative, field-position-focused approach. This one has all the makings of a low-scoring, possession-driven battle.
