Aggies Ready to Continue Playing Well

The New Mexico State Aggies are looking to continue their excellence from their last game as they won at home against the Bryant Bulldogs 19-3. The offense could not manage to get much going as the team was 4-for-16 on third downs and averaged 2.4 yards per carry.

The defense looked incredible as they held Bryant to three points on 255 total yards of offense (187 passing, 68 rushing). The team was able to get stops on the money downs as the Bulldogs were 6-for-18 on third down and 0-for-2 on fourth. They also completely made things difficult as Bryant ran for 1.9 yards per try.

The New Mexico State Aggies have been unable to score points consistently as they are tied for 92nd in the nation with 19.0 points per game. Their defense has been phenomenal as they are giving up only 3.0 points per game, which is tied for 11th in college football.

Tulsa vs. New Mexico State Pick

Spread Pick for Tulsa vs. New Mexico State

  • Tulsa Golden Hurricane -4.5 (4 units)

This game is expected to be close, but the Tulsa Golden Hurricane should have the advantage. This is the 20th all-time matchup and Tulsa is 15-4, so history is on our side as well. Kirk Francis was the more effective quarterback in Week 1 and should be able to dominate. Expect the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to cover the spread.

Over/Under Pick for Tulsa vs. New Mexico State

  • UNDER 52.5 (5 units)

These defenses were excellent in Week 1 and while expecting them to perform at these levels, the under feels like the better bet. Kirk Francis and Logan Fife have not shown enough to be confident enough to score as well as we would need here. These offenses combined to go 12-for-35 on third downs, so they are unable to consistently extend drives. All in all, go with UNDER 52.5 POINTS in this game as the better bet.
