UConn vs Miami-OH Picks and Prediction for Saturday September 26 2026

By: Kim Smith Updated 09/20/2026, 10:27 PM ET

The UConn Huskies visit the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks at Fred C. Yager Stadium in Oxford, Ohio, on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM ET. UConn enters at 2-1 following an impressive 48-20 road victory over Southern Miss, while Miami is trying to rebound from a difficult 0-3 start that most recently included a 35-31 loss to Cincinnati. This will be the first meeting between the programs. At the time of this writing the odds were not released. UConn Carries Momentum Into Oxford

UConn’s 48-20 victory at Southern Miss was easily its most impressive result of the young season. The Huskies jumped ahead early, led 27-6 at halftime and never allowed the Golden Eagles to seriously threaten the advantage. More importantly for this matchup, UConn demonstrated that its offense can travel after opening the year with two games at home.

The Huskies were effective on both sides of the ball. UConn created turnovers, generated short fields and repeatedly prevented Southern Miss from establishing offensive rhythm. That complementary football is particularly valuable on the road because the Huskies do not need to rely exclusively on sustained 75-yard scoring drives.

UConn now has to avoid treating one dominant victory as evidence that every road game will be comfortable. Miami showed considerably more offensive life against Cincinnati than it had earlier in September. The Huskies need to handle the opening quarter well and prevent the RedHawks from using their home field to establish confidence.

Miami-OH Showed Significant Offensive Improvement

Miami’s record is ugly, but Saturday’s 35-31 loss at Cincinnati was considerably more encouraging than the final result suggests. The RedHawks built a 21-point halftime lead before Cincinnati rallied and scored the winning touchdown with 1:29 remaining. Miami therefore came extremely close to producing its first victory in dramatic fashion.

That offensive performance was a major improvement from Miami’s 59-14 season-opening loss at Pittsburgh. Scoring 31 against Cincinnati demonstrates that the RedHawks are capable of creating problems for UConn if the Huskies arrive expecting another easy afternoon.

The concern is finishing. Miami had Cincinnati in serious trouble and still could not close the game. Now the RedHawks face a UConn team coming off a 28-point road victory. If Miami allows another second-half swing, the Huskies have enough offensive momentum to capitalize.

UConn vs Miami-OH Picks and Prediction

Pick: UConn Moneyline

UConn has supplied the stronger complete-game evidence. The Huskies didn’t simply beat Southern Miss; they went on the road and controlled the game from the opening stages. Miami’s offensive breakthrough against Cincinnati deserves respect, which makes me less interested in laying a substantial spread, but UConn is the team I trust more to finish the game.

Pick: Over 52.5 or Lower

Both recent results point toward offense. UConn scored 48 at Southern Miss, while Miami just scored 31 against Cincinnati after building a large halftime lead. The RedHawks’ defensive problems also give UConn a reasonable chance to reach 30 again. A result in the 31-27 or 34-24 range makes the over attractive at 52.5 or lower.

Final Picks: UConn Moneyline and Over 52.5 or Lower
