Wake Forest vs. Virginia Tech Picks
Spread Pick for Wake Forest vs. Virginia Tech
- Virginia Tech -6 (4 units)
These two teams last met in 2023, a game Virginia Tech won by 17 points at home. Virginia Tech brings pressure from all angles, evident in the fact that no one has more than two sacks and at least 13 players have been in on one. Wake Forest’s offensive line has done well to limit pressure in the backfield, but they haven’t faced an attack like this yet. Ashford is going to have to make a lot more split decisions than he’s used to. Claiborne should help the Deacons move the ball, but his touches may dwindle late. Drones grabbed a couple of confidence-building wins for the Hokies over their past two weeks, and that momentum should help them here, at home. Both teams have a common opponent in N.C. State. Wake lost to the Wolfpack by ten points at home just two weeks back and the Hokies beat them by two at home just last week. Virginia Tech is 5-2 SU and ATS in its last seven games versus Wake Forest.
Favored by less than a touchdown at home, take the Hokies.
Over/Under Pick for Wake Forest vs. Virginia Tech
- Over 50 (5 units)
This matchup features are in the bottom half of the ACC in terms of offensive scoring. On top of that, Wake Forest has a top-five scoring defense in the conference. Yet somehow this matchup seems destined for points. It’s forecast to be a gorgeous, sunny day in Blacksburg, so the weather won’t hinder any side. Virginia Tech’s defense is going to put more pressure on Wake Forest than they’ve seen to this point in the season, but the Deacons have a running game, which should allow them to slip it at times and set up scoring drives. Wake averaged 31.7 points per game over their last three, even putting 29 up against No. 16 Georgia Tech. Virginia Tech’s offense scored 26 points or more in two of their last three games, including a 38-point effort in their last game at home.
