Wyoming Could Use some Scoring
While Wyoming has a good defense, it only ranks 129th out of 136 FBS teams in scoring (16.8 ppg) and in their three-game skid, they have only totaled 17 points. In their last game they were at home facing a one-MWC win Nevada team and lost 13-,7 where they had the only turnover and were outgained 271-220. Kaden Anderson passed for 157 yards with a TD and no INT, Sam Scott rushed for 48 yards, and Michael Fitzgerald led the way with 53 receiving yards. The Cowboys failed to cover as a 6.5-point favorite and they have not covered the spread in their last three games.
While Wyoming is led by their ground game, they only had 68 rushing yards in the loss to Nevada. Anderson (1,948 yards, 12 TD, 10 INT) has only averaged 104.7 passing yards in the last three games, where he has one TD and four picks. Lead RB Samuel Harris (558 yards 1 TD) and third leading rusher Terron Kellman (331 yards 4 TD) are both out for this game with injuries. Scott (400 yards, 2 TD) will shoulder the load in the backfield and in the two games before the last one had a grand total of six yards. The Cowboys may go to the air more with a banged-up WR and they will face a Hawaii defense that ranks 63rd in the nation against the pass and run.

Which Hawaii Team Will Show Up?
After a pretty shocking loss to a one-win San Jose State team, Hawaii won their last game, handing San Diego State their lone MWC loss, then lost their last game, only scoring 10 points. In their last game, they were on the road in a bad 38-10 loss to UNLV where they were outgained 470 yards to 231 yards and only rushed for 68 yards while giving up 217 rushing yards. Micah Alejado passed for 163 yards with a TD and a pick, Landon Sims led the team with only 26 rushing yards, and Jackson Harris had 79 receiving yards and a TD. The Rainbow Warriors failed to cover as a 2.5-point underdog and have failed to cover the spread in two of their last three games after doing so in four in a row.
Hawaii ranks 61st in the nation in scoring (28.6 ppg), 71st in scoring defense (25 ppg), and rank 13th in passing yards per game while only ranking 127th in rushing yards per game. Alejado (2,543 yards, 19 TD, 8 INT) had three TD in five straight games before one in the last one and has been picked off once in each of the last two games. Harris and Pofele Ashlock, who had no catches in the last game, have combined for 1,443 receiving yards and 17 TD. Sims (513 yards 3 TD) has only totaled 74 rushing yards in the last two games. The Rainbow Warriors will be facing a Wyoming defense that ranks 11th against the pass but only 109th against the run.
Hawaii has quite a few players listed as questionable, including the third leading tackler, Jalen Smith.
Wyoming vs. Hawaii Pick
Spread Pick for Wyoming vs. Hawaii
- Hawaii -7.5 (+4 Units)
Hawaii has only lost one home game this season and the last time they were in their house, they blew out a 9-2 San Diego State team. They are going to a bowl and can better the one they play in with a win in the finale. Wyoming has endured a tough season, and they have lost three in a row. They are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the nation and in their last three games have only totaled 17 points. On top of that, the Cowboys are without two of their three leading rushers due to injuries. Regarding the Wyoming vs. Hawaii prediction, the Cowboys do have a good pass defense, but that is about it, and they will struggle to score for the fourth straight game, which is why Hawaii will win and cover.
Over/Under Pick for Wyoming vs. Hawaii
- Under 45 (+5 Units)
The total went Under for Hawaii’s last game and has gone Under for Wyoming for five in a row, so heavily leaning towards the Under in this game. The Rainbow Warriors have a solid passing offense, but will be facing the strength of the Cowboys’ defense, which is their pass defense. Wyoming has played pretty good D in their last three games but lost them all, only totaling 17 points. They are one of the lowest scoring teams in the nation and their top RB and third leading rusher are out with injuries. Once agai,n the Cowboys will keep Hawaii from lighting up the scoreboard but will, once again, put up a very low total, so the Under is the pick.
