Kickoff is slated for 1:00 PM Eastern as the Titans look to get their first win in their home opener. Read on for the Rams vs Titans prediction and more free NFL picks.

Rams Hold Houston Without Touchdown

Los Angeles continues to be led by Matthew Stafford, who has now tossed for more than 60,000 career passing yards. Staford finished 21/29 for 245 and a touchdown in their opening win over Houston 14-9. The ground game was less impressive, with Kyren Williams shouldering the load with his 3.7 yards per carry. Three receivers finished with multiple catches, but Puka Nacua led the wideouts with 10 catches for 130 yards. The defense held Houston to 2-9 on 3rd down and held them without a touchdown on their lone trip to the red zone. They also came away with two turnovers and three sacks.

The offense has been able to stay on the field at a high rate as they currently sit 5th in 3rd down conversion rate. Additionally, they are sitting in the top 10 in red zone scoring after the first week of play. The Rams put up fewer than 300 yards in week one, which was partially due to a lackluster running game that generated fewer than three yards per carry. Stafford remains poised in the pocket, with an average completion depth of 8.4 yards, and he has no turnovers thus far. He's being sacked on one of every 10 dropbacks, though, which will need to be buttoned up as the season progresses. As long as he stays healthy (back issues in camp), the Rams should be competitive in the NFC West.

2025 Team Stats:

  • Yards Per Game: 296
  • Points Per Game: 14
  • Red Zone Success Rate: 66.7%

On the defensive end of the field, Los Angeles is allowing just nine points per game, which lands them at 3rd in the league. The Rams held Houston to a 3rd down conversion rate of just 22.2%, which is good for 2nd in the league. The defense should continue to shine here as the Titans' offense was largely out of rhythm in its first game of the season. The secondary has been vulnerable as they are hovering around the bottom 10 in average completion depth, but they have shown they have a nose for the football and can disrupt the pocket. Slowing the ground attack will only further benefit the Rams' defense here.

Titans Look For Quick Maturity From Ward

Tennessee struggled to move the ball in Week One in a 20-12 loss at Denver. While rookie Cam Ward didn't have a bad game, he finished with a completion rate under 50% and failed to lead the offense into the Red Zone. He was also sacked six times against the Broncos. Three players finished with multiple receptions, with running back Tony Pollard leading the way with 29 air yards and 60 yards on the ground. The defense forced four turnovers and held Denver to 6-15 on 3rd down. They'll need more out of the offense at home here.

Some of Ward's problems can be attributed to costly drops, but the rookie also spent too much time in the pocket in week one. The Titans sit last in the league in 3rd down conversion rate, and they didn't make it into the red zone in week one. The ground attack was servicable, generating nearly 3.5 yards per carry, but playing from behind, the Titans were often left airing the ball out. Ward didn't log any interceptions or touchdowns, and while his completion percentage was low and his sack rate high, if the rookie can take care of the football, the offense should be able to find its groove.

2025 Team Stats:

  • Yards Per Game: 133
  • Points Per Game: 12
  • Red Zone Success Rate: N/A

On the defensive end of the field,  the Titans were decent on 3rd down as they sit 13th in the league with foes moving the chains on 40% of their 3rd down tries. They were also strong in the red zone in week one, holding Denver to just 33% inside the 20s. While the defense gave up over 300 yards, they were able to limit the Broncos to just two touchdowns. The run defense has been vulnerable as they are giving up more than five yards per tote. That said, the pass defense has held opponents to a completion depth of just 4.4 yards per completion. The pass rush didn't get in the backfield often, but the Tennessee defense did force two interceptions in Week One.

Rams vs. Titans Pick

Side Prediction for Rams vs Titans

  • Tennessee +5.5 (4 units)

The Titans' defense really showed up in Week One, forcing four turnovers and giving their offense a chance to keep the game close. The Titans had some unfortunate drops that stalled drives, and we should expect them to clean that up a little here. The Rams' pass rush hasn't been too lethal thus far, and their secondary is prone to giving up the big play, which should help the Titans hang around here.

Tennessee +5.5

Total Prediction for Rams vs Titans

  • Under 41.5 (4 Units)

The Titans found success on the ground in Week 1, and they should look to attack the Rams on the ground here. Stafford threw well, but he clearly leaned on Nacua to move the ball down the field with a limited running game. Look for the Titans to key on that aspect here. Lastly, even with nearly 250 yards through the air, Stafford was limited to one touchdown, and the Titans' defense didn't allow a score inside the 20s last week. Look for both offenses to struggle at times here.
