The Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers meet Saturday afternoon at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with first pitch scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET on MLB.TV. Atlanta enters at 75-53 overall and 33-30 on the road, while Milwaukee sits at 79-49 with an impressive 43-23 home record. The Brewers have won four of their last five completed games, while Atlanta has dropped three of its last five. Milwaukee also carries the stronger overall pitching profile into this matchup, although Atlanta owns the better season-series mark at 2-1 entering Friday's action. Atlanta Looks to Lean on Its Power

Atlanta remains in first place in the NL East and owns a strong 75-53 overall record, but its recent form has been uneven. The Braves have lost three of their last five completed games, dropping three straight against Minnesota before rebounding with a 2-0 win over the White Sox on Thursday. Atlanta has been respectable away from home at 33-30, although that road record is less imposing than Milwaukee's excellent home mark.

The Braves are batting .246 as a team with 608 runs, 1,066 hits and 167 home runs. Their .310 on-base percentage trails Milwaukee's .337 mark, but Atlanta owns the better slugging percentage at .413. On the pitching side, the Braves have posted a 3.64 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and .230 opponent batting average.

Atlanta's biggest offensive advantage is its power. The Braves have hit 48 more home runs than Milwaukee, which gives them a legitimate path to scoring quickly even against a strong pitching staff. The concern is consistency, especially against a Brewers team that has been much better at limiting baserunners and has played extremely well at home.

Milwaukee Continues to Set the Pace

Milwaukee comes into Saturday with the best record in the NL Central at 79-49 and has been especially difficult to beat at American Family Field. The Brewers are 43-23 at home and have won four of their last five completed games. That stretch includes a 22-0 blowout of Seattle along with road wins of 4-1 and 6-2 against the Dodgers.

The Brewers are hitting .253 with 642 runs, 1,095 hits and 119 home runs. They hold the better batting average and on-base percentage in this matchup, while their .397 slugging percentage sits below Atlanta's. Milwaukee's pitching staff has been excellent, posting a 3.46 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and .219 opponent batting average while recording 1,245 strikeouts.

Milwaukee's biggest strength is balance. The Brewers reach base at a higher rate than Atlanta, score more runs and own the better team ERA and WHIP. They do not have Atlanta's home-run production, but their ability to create traffic on the bases while preventing opponents from doing the same has helped produce one of the strongest records in baseball.

Starting Pitchers

Atlanta is scheduled to start Bryce Elder, who enters at 8-7 with a 3.92 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 137.2 innings. Elder has allowed 124 hits, struck out 113 and walked 46 while surrendering 22 home runs. Milwaukee counters with Logan Henderson, who is 7-2 with a 2.70 ERA and outstanding 0.87 WHIP through 63.1 innings. Henderson has allowed only 43 hits while striking out 75 and walking just 12. The statistical edge belongs clearly to Henderson, who has been significantly better at preventing baserunners and limiting overall damage.

Atlanta Braves vs Milwaukee Brewers Picks and Prediction

Pick: Milwaukee Brewers Moneyline

Milwaukee is the preferred side in this matchup. The Brewers own the better overall record, the stronger home mark and the superior starting-pitching numbers. Henderson's 2.70 ERA and 0.87 WHIP give Milwaukee an advantage over Elder, and the Brewers also have the better team ERA, WHIP, batting average and on-base percentage. Atlanta's power creates real upset potential, especially in a matchup where one swing can change the game, but Milwaukee's broader statistical profile and 43-23 home record make the Brewers the more dependable choice if the moneyline remains reasonably priced.

Pick: Under 8.5

Take the under if the total is set at 8.5. Milwaukee's pitching staff owns a 3.46 ERA and 1.16 WHIP, and Henderson has been particularly sharp with a 2.70 ERA and 0.87 WHIP. Atlanta's 3.64 team ERA also gives the Braves enough run-prevention ability to keep this game from turning into a shootout. The Braves' home-run power is the biggest concern for an under wager, but Milwaukee has allowed opponents to hit just .219, while Henderson has surrendered only 43 hits in 63.1 innings. At 8.5, the pitching matchup provides enough support to lean toward a lower-scoring game.
