Detroit Tigers vs Miami Marlins Picks and Prediction for Saturday, September 13, 2025

The Detroit Tigers (84-63, 78-63-6 O/U) will be taking on the Miami Marlins (68-79, 72-72-3 O/U) on Saturday afternoon in the opening game of a three-game interleague series for our Tigers vs. Marlins prediction. This is being written ahead of Friday’s opening game of the series. Veteran right-hander Charlie Morton (9-10, 5.59 ERA) is going to be pitching in this game for the Tigers, while the Marlins are sending righty Janson Junk (6-3, 4.48 ERA) to the hill. Today’s edge: MLB predictions for Detroit Tigers vs Miami Marlins built on form and matchups.

Tigers Continue to be Significant Forces

The Detroit Tigers are looking to continue winning games and try to get the top spot in the American League as they are first in the AL Central with an 84-63 record up to this point. The offense is on fire as they are 10th in baseball with a .251/.320/.423 team slash line while averaging 5.0 runs per game.

The Detroit Tigers are coming off a 9-3 road loss on Thursday to the New York Yankees and it does not help being 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Tyler Holton recorded the loss as he allowed two runs in an inning of work as an opener.

Left fielder Riley Greene (33 HR, .826 OPA) has been clicking at the plate and could step up as a legitimate power hitter. Veteran right-hander Charlie Morton (9-10, 5.59 ERA) is going to be on the mound and is coming off a no-decision against the Chicago White Sox, where he allowed three runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts in three innings.
