The ALDS is well and truly underway after an extra innings thriller in Game One on Saturday night, and now, these two teams will do battle again in our Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners prediction.

Can the Tigers start 2-0 on the road?
The Detroit Tigers are a team full of momentum, and with arguably the league's best pitcher taking the mound in this one, they've got a great chance even on the road against an incredibly tough opponent in the Mariners. This post-season, the Tigers have been fantastic on both sides of the ball, allowing just 12 runs across four games (six in one of them), and with the offense doing just enough, their momentum has continued to grow.
On the bump for Detroit in this one will be superstar left-hander Tarik Skubal, who was all but untouchable in his first outing this post-season, going 7.2 innings against the Guardians, allowing just three hits and one run over that time. Last time out for the Tigers was a dramatic win over these Mariners, with an 11th inning RBI single from Zach McInstry leading the way as this team allowed just two runs on six hits to come away winners 3-2.

Can the Mariners find their offense?
The Seattle Mariners came into 2025 with huge expectations, and getting this far, they've already surpassed them, but with so much talent, this is a team with immense resolve and optimism for the coming postseason. After such a great regular season, the Mariners managed just two runs in their first postseason game of the year, and now, with home-field advantage gone, they need to be at their best moving forward.
In this one, Seattle will turn to superstar right-hander Luis Castillo, who posted a 3.54 ERA across 32 starts this season, and with a 1.83 ERA in three postseason starts in his career, he's coming into this one as confident as the rest of his team. Last time out for the Mariners was a tough loss to the Tigers, with the team managing just six hits, coming up short in extras as they lost their home playoff opener by a score of 3-2.
Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners pick
Money line pick for Tigers vs. Mariners
- Detroit -130 (4 units)
Game One was almost a must-win for the Mariners, as they now see Detroit turn to the best pitcher remaining in the postseason in Tarik Skubal, who is more than capable of dominating to give the Tigers a 2-0 series lead.
With the Tigers' Game One win, they are now 3-1 in their last four games against the Mariners played in Seattle, and with momentum behind them and their ace on the mound, expect Detroit to keep building momentum with a win here.
Over/Under pick for Tigers vs. Mariners
- Under 8 (5 units)
If Saturday's series opener was a pitchers' duel, this one should be even more so, with two of the biggest stars facing off in Tarik Skubal and Luis Castillo, both of whom have shown they can dominate in the postseason.
In Game One, a total of 13 hits were mustered, with the teams needing 11 innings to tally five runs, and given how grinding we've seen this head-to-head series to be in recent times, with the under being 3-1 in their last four meetings in Seattle, expect another low-scoring game here.
Keep it simple, take the under.
