The Cardinals enter tonight’s matchup with more to play for in terms of momentum, and their pitching matchup gives them a tangible edge. Sonny Gray brings a strikeout-heavy arsenal and has shown he can navigate tough lineups on the road. The Giants’ offense has been streaky and vulnerable to well-located breaking stuff and high-velocity fastballs, and Gray’s ability to keep hitters off balance could force them into weak contact.
