Ben Rice Over 1.5 Total Bases is a strong prop play for today’s ALDS Game 1 against Toronto, especially given his recent form and matchup dynamics. Rice is batting .375 over his last 10 games, with multi-hit performances in six of those outings. He’s been locked in at the plate, showing excellent bat speed and plate discipline, and he’s likely to see 4–5 plate appearances batting near the top of the Yankees’ order. While Kevin Gausman is a tough assignment, he’s allowed a .289 average to left-handed hitters this season and gave up 17 hits across four starts against New York in 2025. Rice’s swing path matches up well against Gausman’s splitter-heavy arsenal, which has been less effective late in counts.

Gausman has elite strikeout stuff, but he’s also prone to giving up contact when hitters stay patient—something Rice has excelled at during his recent surge. With postseason intensity and the Yankees likely to lean on their hottest bats early, Rice should be in prime position to capitalize. Toronto’s bullpen has also been shaky down the stretch, allowing a .264 average over the final 15 games, which gives Rice additional upside if he sees late-game matchups. Given his current rhythm and favorable splits, Over 1.5 total Bases is a high-upside prop backed by both recent performance and situational value.

MLB Prop Best Bet #2: Dodgers/Phillies No Runs First Inning

The NRFI (No Runs First Inning) prop is a sharp angle for Game 1 of the NLDS between the Dodgers and Phillies, with Shohei Ohtani and Cristopher Sánchez set to square off in a high-stakes pitchers’ duel. Ohtani has been dominant in first innings all season, holding opponents to a .167 average and allowing just 3 earned runs in the opening frame across 24 starts. His strikeout rate jumps early, and he’s especially effective against top-of-the-order bats, neutralizing leadoff threats with a devastating splitter and elevated fastball. Facing a Phillies lineup that’s aggressive but prone to early whiffs, Ohtani is well-positioned to post a clean first.

On the other side, Cristopher Sánchez has quietly been one of the most efficient first-inning arms in the NL, allowing just 2 runs in his last 10 starts and holding opponents to a .192 OBP in the opening frame. The Dodgers’ top three—Betts, Freeman, and Smith—are elite, but Sánchez’s groundball-heavy arsenal and command-first approach can induce early weak contact. With playoff nerves, elite pitching, and both teams likely to feel out the zone early, the NRFI offers strong value in a matchup built for a quiet start. Expect a tense, scoreless first inning as both aces settle in.

MLB Prop Best Bet #3: George Kirby Over 6.5 Strikeouts

George Kirby Over 6.5 Strikeouts is a strong prop for today’s ALDS Game 1 against the Tigers, backed by both matchup data and recent form. Kirby has quietly been one of the most efficient strike-throwers in baseball, posting a 6.3 K/BB ratio and averaging 6.78 strikeouts per start over his last six outings and a whopping 10.3 strikeouts per start over his last 3. He’s gone over the 6.5 mark in four of those games, and today he faces a Detroit lineup that ranks 27th in strikeout rate and has whiffed 10+ times in five of its last seven contests. Kirby’s command-heavy arsenal—especially his elevated fastball and slider—matches up well against a Tigers roster that struggles with pitch recognition and two-strike execution.

Detroit’s projected lineup includes six hitters with strikeout rates north of 24%, and Kirby’s ability to work deep into games gives him the volume to clear this number. He’s thrown at least 95 pitches in five straight starts and has a history of ramping up swing-and-miss stuff in playoff settings. With postseason adrenaline, a favorable matchup, and Seattle likely leaning on him to set the tone, Over 6.5 Ks is a high-upside play. Expect Kirby to attack early and often, with a 7–9 strikeout ceiling well within reach.
