The key for Miami is getting Alcantara through the middle innings without another early deficit. The Marlins have enough offensive efficiency to create opportunities against an Angels staff that has struggled overall, but Ureña is not an easy matchup. Miami's advantage comes from being the more complete team statistically and having a bullpen and overall pitching profile that I trust more than Los Angeles over nine innings.

The Marlins have been the better contact team, own the stronger on-base and slugging numbers, and have a substantially better overall record. Alcantara's 3.68 ERA is not dominant, but his 1.20 WHIP and strong walk rate give Miami a veteran starter capable of avoiding the type of free baserunners that can allow a weaker offense to hang around.
