Los Angeles Angels vs. Milwaukee Brewers Picks and Predictions, Thursday September 18, 2025

The MLB season is quickly coming to an end, but late in the season, there's no shortage of intriguing matchups, including our Los Angeles Angels vs. Milwaukee Brewers prediction.

The Los Angeles Angels (69-83) showed plenty of potential this season, but without the depth and star power needed to compete, their promise fizzled out rather quickly as they are now staring down the barrel of another missed postseason.

On Thursday, they take on the red-hot Milwaukee Brewers (93-59), a team that got hot early in the second half and hasn't slowed down, and with incredible balance on this roster, they could be a genuine World Series favorite in the National League. Read on to see our Los Angeles Angels vs. Milwaukee Brewers prediction.

Expected pitching matchup: LHP Yusei Kikuchi vs. RHP Quinn Preister.

Can the Angels finish the 2025 season with a bang?

The Los Angeles Angels have been one of baseball's worst teams over the past decade, and on the back of a 32-45 record on the road this season, that's not changing just yet as they're once again in last place in the American League West. One of the key reasons for the Angels' struggles this season has been an offense that ranks 25th in baseball in runs scored this season, and with a combined team ERA of 4.86, ranking them 28th, it's very easy to see why they're among the worst teams in the entire league.

In this one, Los Angeles will turn to veteran lefty Yusei Kikuchi, who has struggled to a 4.08 ERA across 31 starts this season, although the 34-year old continues to rack up strikeouts, tallying 166 across 167.1 innings of work in 2025. Last time out for the Angels was a tough loss to these Brewers, with two RBI to Taylor Ward all the offense we saw on the night as Jose Soriano gave up three earned runs across 1.1 innings to start the game as they would eventually fall 9-2.

Will the Brewers continue this momentum into the postseason?

The Milwaukee Brewers have been absolutely rolling in recent times, with the team going 50-27 at home in 2025 as they find themselves closing in on yet another National League Central crown this season. That should come as no surprise, given that the Brewers rank third in baseball in team ERA this season at 3.86, and with the lineup also ranking third in the entire league in total runs scored this season, there's a reason why they're gaining momentum as the favorite in the National League.

On the mound for Milwaukee will turn to 25-year-old righty Quinn Preister, who has found a home with the Brewers this season, posting a 3.25 ERA across 27 appearances, with the third-year starter on pace for career best numbers across the board. Last time out for the Brewers was another big win over these Angels, with Brandon Woodruff's 5.0 innings of one-run ball supporting a dominant offensive performance led by five RBI to Blake Perkins as they came away winners 9-2.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Milwaukee Brewers pick

Moneyline pick for Angels vs. Brewers

  • Milwaukee -1.5 (5 units)

Unsurprisingly, the Milwaukee Brewers have started this series red-hot, as they've outscored the Angels 18-4 in the two games of this series so far, all to support their 6-4 record against Los Angeles in their last 10 head-to-head meetings.

On top of that, Milwaukee has come away winners in four straight games against the Angels, and with the Brewers being one of baseball's best teams at home this season, expect them to finish off a dominant sweep in this one.

Over/Under pick for Angels vs. Brewers

  • Over 8 (5 units)

In two games of this series so far, there have been a total of 22 runs scored, with the over being 5-5 in their last 10 head-to-head encounters, with eight or more total runs scored in six of those meetings.

For the Angels, the over sits at 7-3 in their last 10 overall games, with 43 total runs allowed in their last six games played on the road, and for the Brewers, the over comes in at 7-3 in their past 10, with six runs scored per game during that stretch.

Keep it simple, take the over.
