Starting Pitchers

Los Angeles is expected to start Tyler Glasnow, who enters Tuesday with a 3-0 record, 2.72 ERA and outstanding 0.83 WHIP across 39.2 innings. Glasnow has allowed only 20 hits while recording 49 strikeouts and 13 walks, with five home runs surrendered. Atlanta is expected to counter with Bryce Elder, who owns an 8-7 record, 3.92 ERA and 1.23 WHIP through 137.2 innings. Elder has allowed 124 hits while striking out 113 and walking 46, with 22 home runs allowed. Atlanta's starter brings the much larger workload, but Los Angeles owns the more impressive rate statistics, especially in ERA, WHIP and opponent baserunner suppression.

Dodgers Enter Atlanta Riding a Six-Game Winning Streak

Los Angeles comes into Tuesday at 80-51 and sits atop the National League West. The Dodgers have won six straight overall and each of their last five listed games, including three consecutive victories over Pittsburgh after two wins in Colorado. Their most recent victory was a 4-0 shutout, following wins of 4-3, 5-4, 6-4 and 7-6. That run shows the Dodgers can win both low-scoring pitching battles and higher-scoring games.

The Dodgers are batting .258 with 653 runs, 1,140 hits and 167 home runs. They own a .335 on-base percentage and .426 slugging percentage. Los Angeles holds meaningful offensive advantages over Atlanta in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and total runs scored, while the two clubs are nearly identical in home-run production.

Los Angeles has also pitched well throughout the season, carrying a 3.67 team ERA and 1.16 WHIP while holding opponents to a .217 batting average. The staff has recorded 1,193 strikeouts against 408 walks. That combination of strong offense and excellent baserunner prevention helps explain why the Dodgers have built an 80-win season and remained effective away from home with a 40-25 road record.

Braves Remain Dangerous at Truist Park

Atlanta enters Tuesday at 76-55 and continues to lead the National League East. The Braves are just 2-3 over their last five games, but they did earn a 4-2 victory in their most recent contest. Their recent stretch has also included a 2-0 win alongside losses of 4-1, 2-1 and 6-4. Atlanta's biggest situational advantage comes at home, where the club has gone 42-23.

The Braves are batting .246 with 614 runs, 1,092 hits and 168 home runs. Atlanta owns a .311 on-base percentage and .411 slugging percentage. The Braves actually have one more home run than Los Angeles, but they trail by 39 runs scored and have lower marks in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.

Atlanta's team pitching numbers are strong as well. The Braves own a 3.60 ERA and 1.25 WHIP while limiting opponents to a .231 batting average. They have recorded 1,112 strikeouts and issued 445 walks. The Braves have a slight ERA advantage over Los Angeles, but the Dodgers hold the better WHIP, opponent batting average and strikeout-to-walk profile.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Atlanta Braves Picks and Prediction

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline

Los Angeles gets the edge in what should be one of Tuesday's most competitive matchups. Atlanta's 42-23 home record is a serious factor, and the Braves have already won two of three meetings this season, but the Dodgers enter on a six-game winning streak and possess the stronger overall offensive profile. Los Angeles also has the advantage in WHIP, opponent batting average and current starting-pitcher rate statistics. With the clubs close in team ERA and power production, the Dodgers' superior on-base production and current momentum become the deciding factors. Take the Los Angeles Dodgers on the moneyline.

Pick: Under 8.0

The Under is the preferred total if the number is set around 8.0. Both teams own sub-3.70 team ERAs, and Tuesday's expected starters enter with ERAs of 2.72 and 3.92. Four of Atlanta's last five games finished with six or fewer combined runs, while Los Angeles comes off a 4-0 shutout victory. The first three meetings between these teams produced totals of four, nine and nine runs, showing some offensive upside, but the current pitching matchup gives the Under enough support at 8.0. Take the Under 8.0.
