I am taking Miami on the moneyline. Alcantara provides the Marlins with the most convincing matchup advantage, while New York’s starting-pitching plans remained unsettled entering Saturday. Miami also owns the better overall record and the stronger season-long run differential.

The Marlins’ 22-32 road record prevents this from being a risk-free selection, but Friday’s 5-2 victory demonstrated that Miami can control this matchup at Citi Field. I would back the Marlins at a reasonable price but become more cautious if Alcantara’s presence pushes the line beyond approximately -150.

Run Line Pick:

• Miami Marlins -1.5

Miami minus 1.5 runs is my run-line selection. The Marlins have the pitching advantage and face a New York team carrying a negative-52 run differential. Friday’s three-run Miami victory also illustrated how quickly the matchup can turn when the Mets are forced to rely on multiple relievers.

Laying the run and a half remains more aggressive than playing the moneyline because Miami has struggled away from home. However, Alcantara’s ability to limit New York’s offense gives the Marlins a realistic opportunity to win without needing a particularly high-scoring performance.

Total Pick:

• Under 8.5

I prefer the under if the total is set at 8.5. Alcantara’s 3.82 ERA and 115 strikeouts make him capable of containing a Mets offense averaging approximately 4.1 runs per game. New York scored only twice Friday and could face another difficult assignment against Miami’s most accomplished starter.

The uncertainty surrounding New York’s pitching creates some risk, particularly if the Mets must cover most of the game with their bullpen. Even so, New York’s limited offensive production makes a total in the range of seven or eight runs more likely than a high-scoring series finale.
