Brewers Continue to Impress

The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to build upon their 10-2 road win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. The lineup was able to go 14-for-38 with seven walks and nine strikeouts on the day as Joey Ortiz stole a pair of bases. Milwaukee went 5-for-17 with runners in scoring position and stranded eight men on base. Jacob Misiorowski pitched well in the win as he allowed one run in seven innings on the bump.

The Brewers are sending veteran southpaw Jose Quintana to pitch and he is doing well as in 22 starts, he is 11-5 in 121.0 innings with a 3.72 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. He has been limiting hits as he has a .244 batting average against so far this year. Manaea faced the Tigers once last season in a no-decision as he pitched six shutout innings and gave up one hit with two walks and eight strikeouts. Quintana last faced the Rangers in 2023 as a member of the New York Mets as he pitched six shutout innings and gave up three hits with three walks and five strikeouts without factoring into the decision.

Southpaw Jacob Latz is going to be taking the mound for the Rangers in this game and has been pitching well as he is 1-0 with a save, a 3.15 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP in 68.2 innings over 28 games (five starts). He has been limiting the amount of homers hit as he has allowed six this year after giving up six in 43.2 innings in 2024. Milwaukee Brewers vs. Texas Rangers Pick

Spread Pick for Milwaukee Brewers vs. Texas Rangers

  • Milwaukee Brewers -130 (5 units)

The road/home splits show these pitchers are very similar, but Jose Quintana gives way more length. He is 7-1 with a 2.57 ERA and a .236 opposing batting average in 63.0 innings (11 road starts) while Jacob Latz is 1-0 with a 2.76 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP in 29.1 innings (11 home games, two starts) right now. There is a significant gap with the ability to hit with runners in scoring position, as Milwaukee is eighth with a .774 team OPS with runners on second and/or third base while Texas is tied with the San Diego Padres for 25th with a .693 team OPS with runners in scoring position. The Brewers won the previous six games against the Rangers so take the Milwaukee Brewers to secure the win once again.

Over/Under Pick for Milwaukee Brewers vs. Texas Rangers

  • Under (4 units)

The previous seven outings for these pitchers are limiting the amount of runs allowed as Jose Quintana is 4-1 with a 4.19 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP in 38.2 innings (seven starts) while Jacob Latz is 0-0 with a 3.48 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP in 20.2 innings (three starts) in that span. Both bullpens are limiting runs as well as the Brewers are 10th with a 3.81 reliever ERA while the Rangers are ninth with a 3.72 bullpen ERA right now. All in all, go with the under as the better bet here.
